Trattoria Raieü In Lavagna

Good quality food, excellent mixed fried fish.

Located in the center of Cavi Borgo, this seafood restaurant is very popular, partly because the owners have a boat they use to catch fish and serve it to their guests. The outdoor setting is lovely, with tables lining the alley, although many tables were set up very close together. The waiters were very helpful, but there was room for improvement. The fish was incredibly fresh and the dishes were truly well-prepared. It's a shame I found bones in the fish ravioli (hence the 3 stars). To err is human (which is why I didn't return the dish), but it's certainly not Michelin-starred. It's a shame, especially since the taste was truly excellent.

Every time I return to my home in Santa Margherita, dinner at Raieu is a must. The atmosphere is always the same: the place is packed, and for me, that's the first sign that things are done well here. The cuisine is excellent, with traditional Ligurian dishes that aren't the usual "classics," but authentic recipes that are hard to find elsewhere. Knowing that the family has fishing roots and that the fish practically comes from the sea to the table makes everything even more special. But what always strikes me most is the service. We were looked after by Claudia, a truly exceptional waitress: always present, kind, smiling, and attentive, despite the place being full. She found time for a joke, a piece of advice, and many little touches that make you feel welcome. And then there's the owner who, despite her years, continues to wander among the tables, observing, greeting, and caring for the customers. Now, for me, that's true hospitality. That's what a host does: not just serve a dish, but make every guest feel welcome. I truly hope the Raieu always remains this way, faithful to its history, its identity, and its authentic approach to hospitality. Places like this deserve to be preserved.

The food is decent, but the staff doesn't care about the atmosphere, allowing customers to watch videos on their phones at high volume, which ruins the enjoyment of the food.

Very nice restaurant, pleasant staff. Excellent quality food; we had the shrimp and calamari skewers. I recommend it.

Good food, nice atmosphere near the Doria Hotel, prices a little expensive but not excessive

Excellent restaurant. Mixed appetizer of the freshest seafood, followed by fish à la raieu with potatoes and olives and a very flavorful sauce. To finish, the fiordilatte ice cream with rose syrup was delicious and refreshing. Our only complaint was that other customers were smoking between courses; having the smell of cigarettes while eating out isn't a good thing. Also, another guest was watching videos at high volume on his phone while eating. This ruined the atmosphere a bit.
