A welcoming restaurant with impeccable service. I went for dinner after completing the first leg of the Kalabria Coast to Coast tour and had a wonderful time. I ate really well and had a very pleasant dinner. Thank you.

A delightful osteria off the beaten path along the coast. Located in the historic center. In summer, dining is on the terrace, seating about twenty people. The menu features a meat-based menu, quality local produce, friendly service, and fair prices. Highly recommended.

A beautiful restaurant, like the village it's in, perfect for an evening stroll. Delicious food and excellent value. We dined at a table under the arch, which was lovely. I recommend booking a few days in advance as it's often full.

Lo Speziale is a cosy trattoria tucked inside a small borgo near Soverato. The setting is beautiful and full of charm, and the service is warm and attentive. We started with eggplants cooked the Calabrian way – simple, tasty and full of flavour – followed by a plate of mixed grilled meat that was perfectly done. The house wine had a homely touch, and the fresh chickpeas were a lovely addition. A genuine spot to enjoy good food and the atmosphere of the village.

An excellent Calabrian osteria, far from the summer heat, in a truly beautiful and unique location (a stone village 10 km from Soverato). The house antipasto with traditional cured meats and cheeses is highly recommended. The chickpeas and beans are very good, a zero-mile dish. The first courses are also very good and made with local ingredients (the pasta with wild artichokes is excellent). A little disappointed by the stuffed eggplant, a local institution, but (at least during our dinner) they were a bit too charred and lacking in flavor. Perhaps the choice to serve them with fresh tomatoes and not the classic tomato sauce doesn't help much. Given the exponential price increase, you'll still find a lifeline here: quality at the right price. The only downside is the difficulty finding a free table: we dined at the end of August, having booked at the end of July! Perhaps the decision not to use the indoor tables (in addition to the outdoor ones) in the summer could provide an additional opportunity for those who want to try Speziale's cuisine without compromising the quality offered.

Very authentic Italian Osteria, situated in a picturesque location. Hearty cuisine, mainly meat based. Worth a try!
