A charming place. The menu isn't particularly varied, but the dishes are all delicious, made with local products. Service tends to be slow at busy times. Overall, I recommend it and will definitely return.

A well-kept and welcoming restaurant with a breathtaking view and cuisine that showcases the local flavors to the fullest [the ricotta is top notch!]. Vegetarian options, pet-friendly, courteous, and professional. Happy to have found life in the heart of Piano Battaglia. We'll be back soon!

We spent a wonderful day at Piano Battaglia, culminating in an excellent lunch at Rifugio dello Scoiattolo. We ate wonderfully. Everything was perfect, from the appetizers, such as battered zucchini flowers, to the fresh ricotta alla caponata, to the first courses (the ravioli were excellent), to the second courses, and even to the dessert, homemade by the chef. The black mulberry church cake was excellent, as was the tiramisu. All this was enhanced by the kindness and hospitality of the owners and staff, in the truly unforgettable setting of Piano Battaglia. An experience to be repeated absolutely. Highly recommended.

If you're passing through Piano Battaglia in the Madonie mountains, definitely stop at this mountain restaurant! Everything is delicious, but a special mention goes to the strozzapreti with sausage and eggplant cream: simply divine. Generous portions, high-quality ingredients, and more than excellent prices. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel right at home. Awesome!!!

Summer or winter, when I escape Lombardy to immerse myself in the Madonie Mountains, the first thing my heart and palate want to hear is this splendid place. The quality of the meat, the first courses, the desserts, and even the bread are unparalleled! Add to this a warm welcome and an enchanting location.

27/08/2025: A very charming place, nestled in a breathtaking view. We ate outside, taking advantage of a beautiful day, and the atmosphere was truly special. We started with a platter of cured meats and cheeses for two: a great appetizer to share, especially if you appreciate aged cheeses and specialty cured meats. Next, we had two polenta concia dishes: one with sausage and cabbage, the other with venison. I personally don't like game, so I chose the sausage... too bad it was a bit cold and had more cabbage than meat. Overall, however, the dishes were tasty. With two beers and a water, the bill came to around €65, a fair price considering the quality and, above all, the beauty of the place. The staff is incredibly kind, truly appreciated. Overall, an experience worth trying, with a little room for improvement on my portion.
27/08/2025: A must-visit for sampling traditional dishes and local produce from Chamois and the surrounding area. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Reservations are recommended.

06/07/2025: Searched on Google, driven by the more than positive reviews, we stopped for a lunch as a couple and I must say that expectations were not disappointed: excellent dishes cooked with quality ingredients, trained and friendly staff, attention to the customer and promptness in satisfying the different needs (for example, sharing a dish that arrives already plated separately, or bringing the meat with different cooking methods according to personal taste ...). Not least the location immersed in the greenery of a small village ... Highly recommended restaurant 😊
14/06/2025: When entering this classical Italian eatery to enjoy a Valdostano menu you feel like being transferred some fifty years back in time, not only by the interior decoration but also by the soft jazz being played over the loud speakers and the strict black and white outfit of your fun English speaking waitress. It was only the white apron that was missing. I had the best polenta ever and wines by the glass were excellent. Overall good value for money!
