This visit came on the glowing recommendation of a couple we’d met in Florence at Dalla Lola—regulars who insisted we try La Torre—and they couldn’t have been more right. As wonderful as the food was, what made the evening unforgettable was meeting Rubel, who served and guided us through the experience. Rubel’s presence was magnetic. His personality radiated kindness and warmth, and his way of connecting with people was inspiring. Later that night, My wife and I agreed that meeting him was the best part of Siena. Rubel’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Born in Bangladesh and raised in Thailand, he spent five years as a monk before beginning a worldly path that led him to France, where he worked with a football organization, and then to Siena to be with his brother. Starting humbly as a dishwasher at Trattoria la Torre, Rubel rose to manager in just five years, mastering Italian in only three months along the way. His story is one of resilience, discipline, and gratitude. Over dinner, Rubel shared not only the traditions of Siena, like the famous Palio horse race, but also his perspective on Buddhism, karma, and life itself. His outlook was nothing short of a WOW—a reminder of how perspective and kindness can transform any moment. Dining at Trattoria la Torre was far more than a meal. Unique location!! Under the Torre del Mangia, in an enchanting atmosphere, we enjoyed excellent dishes, traditional Sienese dishes prepared with passion. The service staff are professional, friendly, and impeccable. WELL DONE!!!

A small trattoria with an authentic flavor, perfect for those seeking authentic Tuscan cuisine. Typical, homemade dishes, prepared with great care and using quality ingredients. We had lunch as a family with two small girls and were welcomed with warmth and attention: the staff was extremely kind and attentive, even with the little girls. A simple yet atmospheric place, where tradition and hospitality reign supreme. Highly recommended!

La más auténtica vieja - trattoria escolar en Siena. La Torre, es como retroceder en el tiempo... Crecí escuchando historias de mi padre de ser un estudiante en Bolonia en los años 1950 y comer en Trattorie e Osterie auténtico y barato... este lugar mágicamente te transporta de vuelta a la vieja Italia (no americanizada). Comí aquí por primera vez en 2000... Chef Alessandro es un ENORME talento si no un GENIO... creando platos tradicionales con innovaciones audaces. El menú es de temporada y cambia diariamente. Todas las pastas se hacen delante de usted en - casa. Tagliatelle con salsa Ossobuco que fue alucinante. Literalmente una de las cosas más deliciosas que he tenido en mis 30 años de alimentación profesional. El filete, arista, alcachofas son todos una necesidad! Si quieres una experiencia auténtica... ¡Vamos!

La Trattoria La Torre è una certezza a Siena. La frequentavo quando ero una studentessa universitaria, vi sono tornata anni addietro e in occasione di questo ponte del 25 Aprile. Il locale ha pochi coperti, quindi per essere sicuri di trovare posto a sedere, meglio prenotare. La tradizione è rimasta intatta negli anni, e ne sono passati più di 25 dai tempi dell'università: i pici al ragù (sia di cervo che di cinghiale) sono eccezionali. Consiglio di provare!
