A pleasant evening with friends. Both the cheese-filled cappelletti and the mutton were delicious. You have to return to Merlo every now and then.

Good, homemade food, a very casual and pleasant atmosphere for those who prefer informal dining. The portions aren't particularly large, which makes the prices a bit high. I'd happily go back, though.

The staff is very friendly. They even offered me a coffee, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was definitely a lovely evening, accompanied by friendly staff and, above all, good-quality food served at a reasonable price. The portions are generous, which is not a given in Rimini.

Once inside, you're transported back to the sincere, family-friendly establishments of yesteryear. Something that's increasingly difficult to find today, in a world where restaurants focus more on the aesthetics of the dish than on quantity and substance. Il Merlo is run by people from an era that is sadly disappearing. Every time I pass by (I'm from Rome), I can't help but go there and get indigestion!! Every time!! Thank you!!! A Roman fan of yours.

Pros: The option to eat game, snails, tripe, and delicious grilled mutton. The atmosphere has remained unchanged over the last thirty years, characteristic of old-fashioned trattorias. Cons: Prices aren't posted. The menu is verbal, with surprisingly high prices for the extremely small portions. There was only half a portion of tripe left, and we were charged for the full portion.

03/02/2026: It looked nicer from the outside. The service is slow, even when the place is empty, and it's not comfortable to sit in, at least upstairs. Perhaps they could be more attentive.
10/01/2026: I came here looking for a bottle of wine I couldn't find anywhere else, and I left satisfied with what I was looking for. The guy I spoke to was always polite.
