We met Antonino while he was loading 4 goats into his panda. He invited us to have lunch on his shady and airy porch. He brought us an appetizer and some good wine. We ate pasta alla norma with a special salted ricotta, exceptional sausage and delicious stewed goat. Antonino is a perfect host, friendly and full of energy. At the end of the meal he called Mimmo who showed us the city and had us open the bar to have coffee. Thanks for your hospitality :)

Of course, the road is long and winding from the seaside but such an experience is worth it. We had the privilege of tasting on a terrace between heaven and earth, a choice of generous and authentic antipasti which preceded penne à la Norma and a delicious goat's cheese stew. The service is masterfully provided by Nino, his face lit by two sparkling green eyes and a dazzling smile. Unforgettable moment to reproduce.

Siamo stati a Gallicianò in gruppo. Siamo stati accolti dalla guida Mimmo che ha reso interessante e coinvolgente la nostra visita in questo piccolo borgo dell’area grecanica. Una vera scoperta nel cuore dell’Aspromonte.
A cena ci siamo fermati alla Trattoria greca dove ci siamo sentiti coccolati come a casa. Abbiamo assaggiato cibi della tipica cucina grecanica: antipasto con salumi e formaggi prodotti dai proprietari; maccheroni conditi con il brodo della carne di capra che ci è stata servita come secondo. Anche una nostra amica intollerante al glutine ha avuto modo di assaporare questi cibi accompagnandoli con bocconcini di pane senza glutine. Il cuoco e i camerieri hanno ricevuto i nostri complimenti. È stata una bellissima serata in compagnia in un contesto dove gli unici suoni che si sentivano erano i canti dei grilli e delle cicale. Ci ritorneremo.

they were closing but by calling they kept it open and we were able to taste one of the best and nicest dinners of our tour of Calabria, with a simple but abundant and varied house starter and homemade macaroni also loved by the kids. In addition to being able to chat with the very kind managers about the history and life of this beautiful village of Greek origin, there was a live music concert in the square that resonated in the valley.

Typical dishes and raw materials of the highest quality, decidedly local. As Friulians we appreciated that they also bring, with the water, a good bottle of local wine (without asking) 😂. A dive into the Calabrian Magna Graecia tradition. Very good Mimmo (excellent PR), sublime culinary skills from his wife and courtesy from their niece, who served the tables. Gallicianò is an incredible discovery that no one should miss to know its history which is also the history of Calabria and a large part of the south.

The tradition of Greek cuisine is the main feature of this place, I tasted typical cured meats and cheeses, goat meat, fennel sausage, aubergine meatballs and courgette flower fritters, all seasoned with a local wine and everything is 0 km I will definitely return
