13/07/2025: If you happen to pass through Piglio, in the province of Frosinone, there's a place you absolutely must try: Pompeo's Osteria del Vicolo Fatato. It's a true gem, a small and welcoming place where the food is truly delicious. The atmosphere is warm, familiar, and a bit rustic...just like the osterias of old. What I was pleasantly surprised by is that there's no printed menu: Pompeo tells you in person what's good that day. Each dish is prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and you can taste the love for traditional cuisine, with a creative touch... the food is exquisite, the portions are just right, and you can see the attention to every detail. The service is attentive but never intrusive, and Pompeo knows how to make you feel at home, always with a smile... the prices are fair, which doesn't hurt. My heartfelt advice: it's best to reserve, especially on weekends, because there aren't many seats and the place gets very busy.

He told us the story of each dish with passion and enthusiasm, making us feel like we were part of a unique culinary tradition. The quality of the dishes was simply TOP! We couldn't decide which was the best, because each dish was a masterpiece. The cuisine is authentic, creative and full of love. It is absolutely worth the trip from Rome to Piglio just to eat there.
