I went last night for the first time. I will definitely return as soon as possible. The kind and hospitable owner will make you feel at home straight away. Nothing to say about the TOP cuisine. If you want REAL typical cuisine this is the right place.

We visited Potenza on a very slow, quiet day during the afternoon when almost everything was closed. We happened upon Vincenzo’s restaurant and had a lovely experience. We speak zero Italian, but Vincenzo - who does not speak any English - was welcoming and enthusiastic. He does not have a menu, but a few specific dishes to choose from. We took a stab at ordering verbally and were surprised by what we received, but pleasantly so. The food was great and we were happy we took the leap.

Finally a restaurant where they don't have freezer compartments from which they unpack bags and cartons of semi-finished products to prepare. Here there is simple cuisine but with authentic flavours. By now we have become accustomed to eating only frozen food that they pass off as fresh. Vincenzo doesn't have a menu written on paper but he is the menu, because he cooks what he finds to buy that same morning. The tomato sauce like the one we prepare at home, rather than opening tin cans and tasting it... I have to say thanks to Vincenzo for the way he hosted us and cooked us, because it felt like we were eating at my grandparents' or my mother's... Today it has become It's difficult to find simple and genuine people, everything is like this here, both the dishes and the owners... The bill was honest and it seemed so little that we even left a €10 tip 🤗

I take the liberty of responding to Filippo Marini's review (by failing to prefix the title of Sign because it has nothing to define it as such), the shame for our land is not the sign. Vincenzo but those like you who think they eat even the tables and chairs and when it comes time to pay dispute everything, not having the slightest knowledge of the work and sacrifices that are made to serve a good dish accompanied by Vincenzo's friendliness. I recommend a good book on culinary culture and perhaps a book with the title EDUCATION

Just the courtesy and helpfulness of the owner Vincenzo and the scent as soon as you enter would be enough to leave 5 stars (but Michelin), but Vincenzo is much more and his reviews prove it; obviously you always meet the Caino customer who, in order not to pay, threatens a bad review, never mind.... Impeccable service, exquisite and wonderful dishes like the Lucanian tradition that Vincenzo brings to the table, accompanied by a wonderful aroma. And as Alessandro Borghese would say "you are the best trattoria because you have married the combination of good cuisine, made of great raw materials, with homely hospitality. Full speed ahead, you are Lucanian pride

07/10/2024: Osteria molto curata e menù interessante. Ottima la battuta di manzo che ho assaggiato come antipasto, un po’ deludenti le mezzemaniche (guanciale tagliato troppo grosso e salatissimo e canestrato centellinato). Pranzo che poteva andare meglio ma tornerei per assaggiare altre cose.
