Trattoria da Nonno Cecchino In Campobasso

22/11/2025: I had the pleasure of dining with my family today at this typical Campobasso restaurant, and the experience was overall very positive, with a few minor reservations. The real star was the food: traditional, authentic cuisine that showcases the flavors of Molise. Every dish we ordered was excellent, prepared with fresh ingredients and, no small thing, with a mastery that was evident at first bite. It's hard to find a flaw in the taste and preparation, which deserve top marks. The only thing that dampened our enthusiasm was the ratio between portion size and price. We found the portions served a bit skimpy (compared to the standards we're used to) compared to the asking price, especially for a typical trattoria. We felt that, despite eating very well, we didn't leave feeling as full as we'd expect. ​ ​In conclusion, if you're looking for authentic quality and traditional flavor, this place is perfect. The flavors are worth the trip. However, if you're really hungry, consider the portion size. ​Despite the note about the portions, the freshness and deliciousness of the food still make us highly recommend it!
