AMAZING restaurant! Four of us ate, three adults and one child. We chose their set menus: €20 for adults and €10 for children. All the appetizers were delicious, from the parmigiana to the charcuterie board. For main courses, we had a huge slice of horse meat! And the pistachio and Philadelphia rolls with a flavorful filling. We finished it all off with a fresh and flavorful lemon sorbet. Top service, helpful and super friendly staff! Congratulations!

KONINA is the best!!!! Giuseppe, the best evening in Catania. We were lucky because you can't get in without a reservation, but they took pity on us. The service was fantastic. The gentleman who served us and recommended KONINA was fantastic. If we're ever back, we'll be back. Warmest regards.

Got the set menu for 20€, because it was recommended by one of the local guides as a nice way to try a lot of the Sicilian cuisine in one go, which was in fact true. It may even deserve a warning - it really is a lot of food, so I strongly recommend coming in hungry. I'm a rather big guy myself and didn't manage to finish it all. :) The horse meat is worth trying if you're not afraid of intense meaty flavors. My observation was that it tastes similarly to how a horse smells, so it might not be for everyone, but definitely was an interesting experience. The one liter of wine included in the price is an absolute steal. It is in fact "just" a local wine served in a plastic bottle, but goes well with the food and gets the job done.

A magnificent experience. For €20, we left with incredibly full bellies. But it wasn't just the quantity that impressed us, but also the quality!!! Everything was authentic and traditional. I hope to return soon!

I went to Trattoria da Mario for the first time last night. Excellent location, right in the heart of Catania's nightlife. They served a large selection of delicious, high-quality appetizers (typical Catanese dishes, including the delicious "u Zuzzo"). Afterwards, you could choose a main course of grilled meat (a wide selection), and to finish, a sorbet, coffee, or liqueur—all for a very reasonable price. The wait was long...just enough time to sit down, order, and have a glass of water. Special thanks to Giuseppe, who was always kind and helpful. Anyone in Catania simply cannot miss eating at Mario. Highly recommended.
