Trattoria Da Alfredo In Napoli

We came across this restaurant by chance, our accommodation was in the same street, our experience was very positive. The environment is welcoming and well-kept, with an atmosphere that invites you to relax and enjoy your meal. The service was excellent - the staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall the food was really delicious, even my son ate with pleasure 😊 In summary, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience. We can't wait to go back. I came twice and I have to say 'I will never leave again, everything is perfect' they are special people 'the food is good, all fresh, truly a real trattoria. 💋

Reluctantly, really reluctantly, because the expectations were very high, we leave the restaurants disappointed... very good appetizers, but Genoese inedible although salty (and we were not the only ones to say this), courteous but cold service and an absolutely disproportionate bill. Home cooking, no matter how carefully cooked, is still home cooking. The final bill is also salty, almost more than the Genoese one, also considering that we are not on the seafront or in a place with a heavenly view. And that feeling of being treated with cold sufficiency left us with a bitter (salty) taste in our mouths.

After 5 hours on the Milan-Naples train, the right reward is to be taken to dinner at the Trattoria “Da Alfredo”. This is how I see it, after I found myself there, brought by friends to whom I asked to eat as if I were at home. This trattoria is located outside the usual tourist route that visitors to Naples usually choose; in via Traccia in Poggioreale, you don't happen upon it by chance, you go there because a friend who knows this beautiful place where traditional Neapolitan dishes are prepared with awareness and competence takes you. Furthermore, whoever took me there says that the owner personally goes shopping in the "Vasto", a neighborhood of Naples where there is a market selling fruit and vegetables etc. etc. every day or almost. The macaroni alla lardiata that I ate, I don't think I've ever eaten so good, so even the potato and provola pasta turns out to be truly remarkable for its creaminess and taste. The appetizers are buffet style, there are multiple side dishes and traditional Neapolitan delicacies, including mozzarella. In conclusion, I can only recommend this restaurant for those who want to eat well, really well and therefore if you have a Neapolitan friend, let them take you there!
