Friendliness, hospitality, and politeness are in the restaurant's DNA, but what struck me most was the ability to cook fish in all its forms, with minimal oil and seasoning...all the dishes were excellent... Excellent value for money. Absolutely not to be missed.

Here you'll find quality ingredients and a selection you'll hardly find anywhere else. Max (the owner), with his charisma and experience, makes all the difference. Roberto, his son, is a talented 24-year-old chef with a passion for his work. And all the staff are truly excellent. They make you feel at home. A discovery I recommend. If you're in the area, a must-see. Oh! What's important is what you eat at the taverna... elsewhere you'd spend at least double. Thanks guys, you were truly fantastic.

While browsing the internet, we found this location in Castel Volturno on the dock. A quaint restaurant with outdoor tables and about 30 seats inside, even in winter. The place is quiet and not noisy, which is important for conversation. Parking is available nearby. It was a lovely evening dinner with my sweetheart. We ordered a non-raw appetizer, a first course of paccheri with lobster, and a second course of sea bream, cuttlefish, and prawns, all grilled. Everything was delicious, prepared with culinary passion by chef Roberto, son of Max "o' diver," the owner of the business. What can I say? Max is a whirlwind of knowledge about fish, cuisine, and more. The table setting—a double tablecloth and cloth napkin, and the change of cutlery after each course—is noteworthy. The service was attentive and courteous. A pleasant discovery. Congratulations to everyone, to the owner Max I, chef Roberto, and the staff. Keep it up, and see you soon. Highly recommended. Trying is believing 👍

We went to Max o sub last night for dinner with a group of friends. We immediately felt at home thanks to Max's hospitality. He delighted us with delicious dishes like seafood carbonara and octopus alla Luciana, all so fresh! And to top it all off, he even serenaded us with live guitar! Everything was top-notch! Great Max!

Conviviality, quality, and hospitality at their finest; when passion marries work; Max is exceptional: he makes you feel at home and treats you like an old friend and/or a regular customer; his strength? His son in the kitchen and the family around him; values ​​that make you invincible; excellent value for money, everything delicious, and the pacchero with lobster is exceptional... it's definitely worth a visit;

I'd title my review: Must mop up the sauce!!! Beyond the empathy I immediately felt with the owner, a histrionic character, so much so that he dedicated a song to me, sung and played on the guitar by him... the raw materials were excellent... the seafood on the table. An octopus so good I'd never tasted before at Bolina. Phenomenal raw fish. The first courses were poetry. The second courses will be remembered forever. The very young son, who runs the kitchen, is a talent, a true badass who knows his stuff. It's a trattoria, without frills, without glitter, but you can feel the big heart they have everywhere. More than a lunch, I'd call our visit a journey. Max, without knowing, you gave us strong emotions. We'll take you with us. Thank you.

È stata una serata meravigliosa, non potevamo scegliere posto migliore per il nostro primo anniversario di matrimonio, la qualità del pesce era eccelsa, una vera esplosione di sapori. Hanno altissime competenze di cucina sia con il pesce cotto che crudo. Servizio impeccabile sia nella velocità che nella cordialità. Ci siamo sentiti a casa. Qualità prezzo ottima considerato il pescato giornaliero. Infine ci hanno deliziato con dolci e amaro sublime. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente ogni qualvolta ci troveremo nei paraggi. A presto!

Consigliatissimo. Ingredienti di alta qualità e pesce fresco cucinato magistralmente. Il personale cordiale e pronto a consigliare nel migliore dei modi. Il proprietario, Max, persona piacevole, preparata e di compagnia... se non fosse che viviamo a un'ora da qui, saremmo clienti fissi ogni settimana.

05/10/2025: Today it was a nice surprise I had Pasta with deer and porcini mushrooms. It was prepared and served well as my first dish. The flavors blended well and nothing was overpowering. The second dish was steak with arugula and slice cheese perfectly cooked and flavored was spot on. The sides of grilled artichokes, zucchini, eggplant, peppers and pumpkin were delicious. The desert was aslice of cake topped with pistachio. A good beer and ended with an amaro. Ambiance is good. Location easy find, staff are professional and kind. Complements to the kitchen staff. I look forward to another visit. Bravo

20/09/2025: The pizzeria is located in the streets of a quaint and charming village, which lends it a pleasant atmosphere. It's a shame, however, that the road from the parking lot to the pizzeria is marked by steps that aren't particularly comfortable; it would be helpful to know this before visiting. As for the interior, it's very welcoming, and the staff is truly helpful and friendly. It's a shame about the food; expectations were high, but the reality was unfortunately quite disappointing. In this case, I wasn't satisfied with either of the two pizzas (Margherita sbagliato and Cruscardella Lucana). The dough on both was slightly undercooked. The Margherita sbagliato isn't anything special, a pizza that tastes a bit bland—meh. In the Cruscardella, on the other hand, you can only taste the strong flavor of the scamorza, the bell pepper is practically nonexistent, and the mortadella is completely overshadowed by the overly strong flavors of scamorza and orange. On the other hand, all the fried foods are very good, although I find some of them a bit overpriced. The commitment and quality are there, but I think there's a lack of attention to detail, and personally, I'd revise some of the pizzas on the menu. Expectations are too high for a pizza that doesn't surpass many other lower-end pizzerias by much.
20/09/2025: Fabulous pizza. Taste and a variety of sensations. Fried cones to write home about. Hurry!
