The appetizers, "Tuscan pasta and fried polenta," were good. The stuffed cappelletti were good. It's a shame the fish pici were raw and then delivered after 20 minutes.

It is one of those restaurants that makes you say, If this is pasta, then I have never actually eaten pasta before. The pasta is just that good. We tried the Pico alla Carbonara and the Cappellacci alla Burrata, they were cooked perfectly and the ingredients were amazing. On top of that, the staff was very kind and friendly.

DELICIOUS food - we ordered pistachio pesto pasta, ratatouille, and fagiole + a half bottle of Chianti Classico Riserva. And the tiramisu was the best I’ve had. (I hear they have a nice tasting menu, but I didn’t order it) Very conveniently located right by Boboli Gardens but not touristy at all.

The appetizer was banal. Two slices of ham, two pieces of cheese, two tomato crostini and two chicken liver crostini. But passable. The Florentine steak was overcooked; almost burnt on one side, and boiled on the other. It was a shame because the ingredients seemed good.

I had lunch here during a trip to Florence and really enjoyed it. The place is a bit small but well-maintained, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The dishes we enjoyed most were the appetizer, which was very good and traditional, and the beef and baked potatoes, which were truly spectacular. I would have loved to try the Florentine steak because the meat was truly exquisite!

What a lovely surprise find! Near Jardin Di Boboli gate on the way back into town after our golf cart tour. This traditional Italian small trattoria serves lovely local food with friendly attentive service. Highly recommended! 👍

Trattoria La Gargotta

08/03/2026: A very well-kept restaurant, authentic Tuscan trattoria style. Outside, there's a beautiful terrace with a marvelous view, which certainly makes everything even more beautiful in the warmer months. The owner, who waits at the tables, is incredibly kind and helpful. Excellent food!! We tried excellent, strictly high-quality Tuscan cured meats. The first course with hare sauce was excellent. The fried chicken and rabbit with artichokes was tasty and dry!!! A must try. The peposo... fabulous. Flavorful but very digestible. Definitely worth a try and a return visit... perhaps in the summer to take advantage of the terrace!!
05/03/2026: Typical Florentine trattoria, typical Tuscan (Florentine) food. In summer it is very nice with the veranda (terrace) overlooking Florence.
