A true trattoria with an ancient tradition. Simple and informal. With the tables outside it feels like being in a village, not in the city. Piedicastello has this special charm.

A must-see when I pass through Trento!
Welcoming and familiar atmosphere, friendly but professional staff and typical quality cuisine at excellent prices (On Sunday at lunch they offered us a fixed menu for €25: two first courses, two second courses, potatoes and polenta on the side, water, ½ wine and coffee).
Don't miss the excellent homemade desserts!!!

Beautiful experience! The owners, collectors of paintings of various genres and subjects, were very kind guests, letting us visit all the various rooms full of paintings even on the ceilings! The place was and is a meeting place for artists from the region, and it shows! (For us it was strange to notice that some customers, instead of conversing or admiring the paintings they were surrounded by, continued to stare at their phones in a daze, but that's how it goes...). Wide choice of buffet starters, excellent venison stew, exquisite desserts. Excellent value for money. The restaurant is in a very nice old hamlet on the Lun'Adige. Pay a visit to the restaurant bathroom... and turn off the light... you will understand why...

If you drive from Riva towards Tenno, shortly after the Cascata Varone you will pass through the small village of Cologna, where it is worth making a stop. You are, so to speak, in the epicenter of the home of carne sala (salted meat) and strangola preti (spinach dumplings)! For us both absolute highlights from the region. The Pie di Castello is very well known here, a long-established, quaint, very rustic and simple restaurant that specializes entirely in these dishes. It's worth it!
