After passing Sutri on the way to Capranica, as you're about to make a left curve, on your right, just beneath a tuff rock face, at street level, you'll notice a handful of garden tables with chairs and checked tablecloths: it's the garden of Trappicò. In this restaurant, rescued from a neorealist film, you might bump into Sordi, Fabrizi, or Vitti, and there wouldn't be anything unusual. Simple but not dreary. The owners will welcome you, besides a mountain of delicious fried artichokes. They're attentive to making you feel comfortable and ready to offer you their classics or, if it's in season, dishes rich in porcini mushrooms. The kitchen is open to the public, the dishes have bold flavors and generous portions. Everything is as it would have been forty years ago, but today. It's time to pay, and this too will be a pleasant surprise, but discover it for yourself.

Delicious pasta carbonara at Trappico, and it was the best we’ve ever had! The food was so good that we would gladly take a detour just to eat here again the next time we’re in Italy.

45 euros for: a starter of fried foods; an aubergine parmesan; a porchetta; a sautéed chicory; a Nepi water; half a liter of house white; a strudel with berries. Family atmosphere, kind, efficient. Pleasant place, outdoors or indoors. A splendid lunch after seeing the amphitheater and mithraeum of Sutri.

Pranzo del 1 maggio con famiglia e amici. Locale semplice e ben curato. Il cibo è ottimo, i piatti abbondanti la pasta è fatta in casa. Il personale discreto ma cordiale, ci siamo sentiti accolti come a casa! è stato davvero un piacere
