Well, the food was good, but it could have been a little more careful: the dishes arrived barely warm at the table. Even though we were the first customers, we were the first ones. But what we least liked was the service. It was very confusing. It was clear that the staff wasn't clear about their responsibilities. Our orders were bounced around several times. We even witnessed a couple of arguments among the staff about who should take our order. It wasn't pleasant.

A historic restaurant in the heart of San Lorenzo, a vibrant part of authentic Rome. Family-run, the same owner has carried on the tradition with passion and hospitality for over forty years. The atmosphere is refined and inviting, the food is truly delicious, and the bill is fair. The only downside: it was Sunday, we hadn't booked, and due to the packed restaurant, our order was lost, forcing us to wait a little longer than expected. However, the staff was incredibly kind, offering us an aperitif and dessert to make up for it. A place definitely worth a second visit—this time with a reservation!

The place remains exemplary. The best fried anchovies ever, time and cost are excellent. The charm remains unchanged, the service is friendly, fast, and competent. Very good.

It was delicious! We had the Roman-style cod tail, cod in sauce, and fried anchovies! Real Roman cuisine.

We love it. We went twice: both Carbonara and Grincia Svagliata are optimal choices. We wish we would have have more time to try the vaccinara. The service is very nice and feels like family

12/10/2025: Beautiful spot in the midst of Rome. Great food, great wine, great service team all around. First place I stopped for food in Rome and was totally worth it
11/10/2025: Among the vast array of restaurants in the Monti neighborhood, this gem stands out, offering the pleasure of good food and impeccable service. This is my second visit, and I've tried both traditional Roman dishes and other recipes, and I've never been disappointed. Kudos also for the customer service.

Osteria Bonelli

20/07/2025: Everything was perfect. The carbonara was among the best in Rome (as was the gricia my girlfriend had). The oxtail stew was delicious; the meat melted in your mouth, and the soffritto made it incredibly flavorful. Bonelli, a guarantee of quality and value!
