17/08/2025: Introduction:
I cancelled dinner for two at a local restaurant, aiming for a Michelin star 🌟 due to a technical problem with the menu. It was 9:30 a.m. and we were supposed to dine somewhere on August 15th.
I called to make a reservation based on the good reviews. It seemed to be a cross between a restaurant and a seafood trattoria. I arrived and parked comfortably in the restaurant's dirt parking lot.
When we got to the entrance😔, I won't deny that we stopped and said, "But it's a bar, no... wait, it's a hotel, no... maybe it's a place that serves lunch... Well... Shall we leave?? Shall we run away???🤣🤣🤣🤣"
But given the time (9:45), we decided to go in...
These are the ratings:
Welcome 3/5 - bartenders working, young people milling around, and no clear direction to ask for a seat.
Service 5/5 - service above expectations, the waiters were extremely helpful, kind, friendly, and easy-going.
Quote from the waiter: "Water too cold? I'll change it... this is less cold."
This made us feel at home among friends.
We ordered: a fish appetizer (to share), a fish main course, a pizza.
Everything was delivered promptly, and best of all, we ate together.
Which is not a given at all.
Food: 5/5
Mixed seafood appetizers, seemingly homemade, good and with a genuine feel
Spaghetti with clams, SUPER
Pizza, I have a feeling I'll never eat a better one in Modena.
Fresh food, better than more renowned places.
Location: 2/5 The atmosphere, unfortunately, is a bit shabby. I won't go into detail because there are so many things to note.
It needs a major makeover to enhance the good, fresh service and the excellent quality of the food.
In its favor, the sea view (which needs a better barrier to block the smog from passing cars) and the perfect location.
Cost: 5/5
I didn't spend cheap, but I spent fair and honest money.
Conclusion:
Take off your heels and tie, go eat well and generously.
Have a laugh with the waiter and, above all, feel like you're among friends.
