The Mescan In Acireale

Happy to have rediscovered this place! Mescan is a historic pub in Acireale. I spent many evenings there with friends as a teenager, but then it went into decline and I haven't had the chance to frequent it again. I was skeptical about returning, but I was surprised to find a place that has been reborn, even better than before! The place is still as amazing as it was then, but the food, beers, and overall quality have significantly improved. Their burgers are delicious, with homemade bread and quality ingredients. The service is friendly, helpful, and fast. To this day, it's one of the few pubs in the Catania area that can still call itself such. Prices are in line with the rest of the market, with the difference compared to other places that are adequate for the quality provided. Average cost €20 per person.

The beer was great, and the place is super cozy.

In the heart of Acireale's historic center, this Irish pub-style venue offers excellent sandwiches and a decent selection of beers. Service was prompt (after all, it was a quiet evening and we were the only ones there), and the waiter was discreet and friendly. For a sandwich, beer, and liqueur, we paid about €20 each. The only downside is parking; although you can park in front of the venue, finding a spot there is practically impossible.
