Dinner here was the most uniquely Italian experience of our whole 10 day trip! First, the seafood pastas were amazing! Super fresh and flavorful. I could eat them every day. Second, the atmosphere is charming and cozy. We didn't know it was a Sardinian restaurant at first, but if the food is any indication of that region, then I will definitely go there next time I'm in Italy. The food, while wonderful, is not what made the night so special though. It was the people we met. Our waiter was initially very gruff, but warmed up to us as we attempted to speak Italian with him. After some attempts on our part to order, he indicated he knew what we wanted and would take care of it. We decided to go with the flow, having no idea what we were going to get. Turns out he was right--all the choices were perfect. (We suspect that some of the 1 or 2 star ratings are a result of people not appreciating the humor of that type of situation.) By the end of the evening, we were fast friends. Over the course of dinner, we struck up a conversation with the family at the table next to us, who seemed to be regulars there. We don't speak Italian and they didn't speak English, but we had a lovely time trying to communicate. It's the kind of place where that happens.
