Taverna Testaccio In Roma

There were four of us for lunch; two had a matriciana, the others a steak, and the other meatballs. To finish the meal, three chicory leaves and a roast potato were served. Half a liter of house wine, mineral water, and coffee. 120 euros Of course, everything was good quality and the service was efficient, but honestly, €30 per person for such a simple and quick meal seems like a quick profit to me. With a few more euros, we could have had a proper full-course fish lunch elsewhere. I'm very sorry, but I can't give more than 3 stars.

The funniest thing is that I met them on Instagram but when I booked I didn't connect right away. They perfectly respected the idea that they convey from social media, friendly, simple and nice; it was like going to eat at a friend's house that I haven't seen for a while. The food in my opinion is superlative, traditional dishes that we have unfortunately lost over the years, like the boiled meatballs that I ate for the first time, super good. The Gricia and the Matriciana are perfect, the zabaglione semifreddo dessert is really good. And everything was served in a very short time by the guy, I think his name is Valerio, very friendly, and always with a smile. Marked on the list of typical places. I will go back there with my brother, who every time he comes to Rome can't wait to eat traditional dishes. Prices perfectly in line in my opinion. See you soon!

We were there last night. The Roman first courses were fantastic, and the boiled meatballs were also delicious. The zabaglione semifreddo was also delicious. The service was fast and attentive. We'll definitely be back, highly recommended!

The restaurant overlooks an area where parking is easy, and the staff is truly delightful and helpful. The menu offers both meat and seafood options, though I haven't tried the latter. It's a great spot for an evening with friends.

Il locale si trova a Testaccio, lontano dalla confusione del centro ma facilmente raggiungibile sia a piedi se si ha voglia di fare una passeggiata, sia in metro, il locale è poco distante dalla fermate della metro. Lo staff gentile e disponibile, il locale molto carino sia all'interno che all'esterno. Abbiamo preso diverse cose tipo polpette di melanzane, cicoria ripassata, carciofo alla romana, tutto buonissimo, ma la carbonara era la cosa più buona di tutte, mai mangiato una carbonara così buona! Da provare e da ritornarci tutte le volte che si va a Roma!

"I don't even like carbonara"... these are the words of chef Mimmo, well... I actually really liked it! But the maritozzi with anchovies... I would have liked a dozen 😆 The decor isn't typically Roman, sober and urban, but the food speaks volumes about Rome, as beautiful and good as the owners (it goes without saying)! High-quality ingredients. Pleasant and timely service. Excellent wines and desserts... ❤️ And the cleanliness is striking, which is not at all a given, even in the restrooms. Well done everyone! Go there.

“Excellent culinary experience!” I ate divinely! Every dish was carefully crafted, from appetizers to desserts. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and perfect pairings. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. A true pleasure for the palate. I'll definitely be back!

Came here tonight for the first time... located in one of Rome's most characteristic neighborhoods, with a family atmosphere and mouth-watering food. Chiara welcomed me with her warmth and friendliness, recommending amazing dishes. The only flaw...the gnocchi (the ones with the blue eyes) were missing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks again, I'll definitely be back... but only if they're there!!!!
