Taverna Malanotte In Bellano

Tavern with a true "innkeeper" of the past. We stopped today looking online for reviews of places to eat in Bellano, a town on Lake Como. The reviews gave this tavern a good rating and so we went. The place is very small, about 20 seats, and is run by two gentlemen and their son in support when he doesn't have shifts at his main job. The father is the real old-time innkeeper who stops to chat at the tables, very pleasant. The food is typical of the tavern, with very simple dishes and a rich list of wine & co to drink. We took a mixed platter of cold cuts and cheeses, mixed salad, pickled vegetables and a tomato bruschetta. At the end of the meal, two homemade cakes, one with chocolate bread and milk, and a tart with chestnut, ricotta and chocolate chips, both divine. A glass of sangiovese and a liter of water. Total cost €45. The lady prepares the dishes. For atmosphere and food really recommended.

My best friend and I were left without food at home and we went out to buy something to eat... this was the only place open and despite the time the owners welcomed us warmly and served us with such kindness. 10/10 the best piadinas we have ever eaten 🫶 thanks again to the owners for welcoming us 💕

Excellent address, I loved the lasagna and the good chocolate cake. The owners are adorable! The cream with the cake was delicious. If I'm in the area I'll come back.

The family who runs the wine bar/restaurant are very welcoming and we ate very well. The cuisine is homemade and with great taste. An excellent address if you want to try real Italian recipes.

We went for lunch here after a long walk and enjoyed a delicious hearty feed of meat & veg lasagnes (my veg lasagne was lovely), bruschetta, piadini and wine. Super reasonable and authentic and the owners were really friendly. Exactly what we wanted after a big hike from Varenna!

An unforgettable experience. We came in June and were able to meet the owners who are a lovely little couple. The food was excellent and particularly the chestnut tart which was exquisite. We highly recommend and will come back with great pleasure!

The only warm food available was lasagna (tasty). Excellent selection of wines. It's mainly a place where you go to have light food, like Spanish tapas. The premises is old cute authentic.

Un restaurant se trouvant dans une petite ruelle , donnant l'impression d'être fermé , mais quant vous entrez dans celui ci, vous aurez l'impression de changer d'époque, et vous serez agréablement surpris par l'accueil de ce charmant couple de gérant , qui vous fera découvrir les spécialités de la région et surtout , les vins d'Italie. Nous avons eu l'impression d'être hors du temps. C'était vraiment super et très bon.
