02/10/2024: Small restaurant on the sea front almost hidden by the large restaurant next door.
We were the first to arrive in the evening and it was quiet through the evening. Just as well as the guy serving tables also seemed to be cooking.
It was a small menu but we were pushed towards a smaller choice, we were told mussels were not good in September although we have eaten them elsewhere. We asked for house red wine but got rose.
We ordered one baked fish and one swordfish. However a plate of marinated swordfish, octopus and potatoes also arrived as a starter which we later realised we were not charged for. It was very good.
The roasted fish was OK but the middle was not cooked. Bread was very good. With a bottle of water the bill was 47 euros. Very good value.
09/09/2024: My husband and I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a local person last August, having made a reservation. We had a very good time, in fact before leaving Crotone we returned a second time.
On these two occasions we had appetizers, first courses with seafood, fried fish.
The starters were varied and plentiful: octopus salad, raw swordfish, fish and meat balls, very fresh and delicious anchovies, a very good sardine (usually I don't appreciate it very much but this one was really special), baby octopus with a light gratinating. All very fresh and tasty. The first courses are plentiful and rich in fish, the fried fish is light and very well done.
Tasty and well cooked fish, you can see that there is passion and pride for their cuisine.
The house rosé wine is also very good.
Good value for money.
We appreciated the fact that the owner himself, when displaying the menu, told us which of the dishes offered were with fish raised in the sea, also specifying the origin, and which were prepared with very fresh fish. Naturally we chose the latter.
The place is small, it doesn't have outdoor tables, you can understand the choice to offer a not very broad but quality offer. I imagine that this is also the reason for the insistence of the owner, who was kind, thorough and helpful in presenting his cuisine, on the need to book.
If your priority is eating good, fresh and well-cooked fish, I recommend it.
