Supra e Sutta is an authentic restaurant serving typical Calabrian cuisine located in Cardeto, in the province of Reggio Calabria.
We had the pleasure of visiting it on the first day of the year with my family and we were enthusiastic about the numerous specialties offered.
The concept of the restaurant is simple but effective: you sit down and enjoy what is served to you. A formula that allowed us to discover genuine and tasty dishes.
In particular, I loved the first courses and the meat, with a special mention for the sausage with potatoes, truly exceptional.
I highly recommend it to those who want to immerse themselves in the true Calabrian culinary tradition. An experience not to be missed!

By chance at the last moment with a friend, we decide to go to dinner in a place where tradition can be felt at every moment and place, a choice that has never been more appropriate, we are welcomed by people, it's strange to say this these days, smiling and which immediately puts you at ease, as if you were going to visit a family friend. At the table the girl who takes care of the orders advises us as an excellent hostess, trying to put us in a position to follow a journey that can leave us pleasantly satisfied , which she did perfectly well, chapeaux!
Homemade appetizer reinforced with various types of local products, capocollo, stretched pancetta, peppered pecorino, baked olives, meatball with sauce, pecorino, ricotta, bruschetta with dried tomatoes, crostini with melted cheese, stuffed pepper, aubergine with tomato concasse' and melted cheese, then continuing with parmesan and chilli cream soup and then again meatballs, aubergines and potato croquettes, I hope I haven't forgotten anything, but I certainly remember one thing, taste like the best Calabrian grandmothers... Let's get to the pasta, for me a tagliatella with mushrooms that doesn't even have time to get cold and is already finished, my friend opted for dried tomatoes and ricotta, well his is also worthy of fabulous praise, all accompanied by a nice bottle of local red (cold) for this reason alone you won me over, (because who cares that red is drunk at room temperature) and to finish a sponge cake with lemon cream and a sorbet also made to perfection... Well honestly I am proud and happy to have chosen you for my dinner... Thank you very much Marco m.

Per caso all'ultimo istante con un amico, decidiamo di andare a cena in un posto dove la tradizione si possa respirare in ogni istante e luogo, scelta mai più azzeccata, veniamo accolti da gente, è strano da dirlo di questi tempi, sorridente e che ti mette subito a tuo agio, come se andassi a trovare un amico di famiglia.. Al tavolo la ragazza che si occupa delle ordinazioni ci consiglia da ottima padrona di casa, cercando di metterci nelle condizioni di fare un percorso che possa lasciarci piacevolmente soddisfatti, cosa che le è perfettamente riuscita, chapeaux!
Antipasto della casa rinforzato con varie tipologie di prodotti locali, capocollo, pancetta tesa, pecorino pepato, olive infornate, polpetta al sugo, pecorino, ricottina, Bruschetta con pomodori secchi, crostino con formaggio fuso, peperone ripieno, melanzana con concasse' di pomodoro e formaggio fuso, per poi proseguire con grana e vellutata di peperoncini e poi ancora polpette di carne, melanzane e Crocchetta di patate, spero di non aver dimenticato nulla, ma una cosa di certo me la ricordo, gusto come dalle migliori nonne calabresi... Veniamo alla pasta, per me una tagliatella ai Funghi che neppure fa in tempo a freddarsi che già è finita, il mio amico, ha optato per pomodori secchi e ricotta, beh anche la sua degna di un favoloso plauso, il tutto accompagnato da una bella bottiglia di rosso locale (freddo) già solo per questo mi avete conquistato, (perché chissene frega che il Rosso si beve a temperatura ambiente) e per finire un pan di Spagna con crema al limone e un sorbetto anche questi fatti a regola... Beh sinceramente sono fiero e felice di avervi scelto per la mia cena... Grazie di cuore Marco m.

Homemade food, excellent and plentiful, from starters to main courses. The place to come to eat typical local food, they raise the pigs that end up on the menu so it can't be more authentic than that. Excellent service. Absolutely worth trying if you are in the area. As for dishes, I recommend the stewed lamb: spectacular and very tender.
