I had dinner with three friends. We ordered two appetizers (one raw and one cooked), both very generous and delicious: the tuna tartare was phenomenal!
We then ordered four first courses, knowing that the restaurant specializes in fresh pasta. I had the squid ink ravioli, filled with nduja and pecorino, with scampi sauce. I thought they were divine. The flavors were perfectly balanced (despite the nduja filling), with no one flavor overpowering the others.
For dessert, the lemon sorbet.
The staff was attentive and efficient.
The restaurant concept is a bit old-fashioned, but not unpleasant.
Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back!

Torno con un gruppo di amici in questo ristorante del quale conservavo un ottimo ricordo. La qualità dei piatti è forse anche superiore ai miei ricordi gustativi della visita precedente. Tuttavia il servizio non è più all’altezza della qualità della cucina, forse per la mancanza di personale.
Ritornerò sperando di vedere un recupero anche nella qualità del servizio.

Pastificio Statiola, a charming eatery just beyond the city centre, offers a delightful balance of quality, presentation, and value, aptly reflected in its name, which suggests weighing or balance. Apparently, the owner’s grandmother coined the name, capturing the essence of the restaurant’s philosophy. The menu features a full Italian experience, from primi to secondi, with handmade pasta and exceptionally fresh seafood that immediately caught my attention. The wine selection is quite impressive, highlighting excellent Calabrian options alongside select French bottles. The presence of numerous local patrons underscores its reputation within the community. While slightly removed from the tourist trail, Pastificio Statiola is a true gem for those seeking authentic, high-quality cuisine at a fair price.
