An authentic place, with a vintage feel, where you can enjoy truly traditional, top-quality dishes! Beautifully presented and with a personal style that captured my heart... my favorite of the entire vacation! We arrived at three o'clock after descending from the lake, tired and hungry, and we left happy, with full and happy stomachs...

This beautiful mountain hut, somewhat isolated, makes it quiet and truly charming, and very unique for all the vintage items found there. I recommend reaching it via the trail that passes through the woods for about 30 minutes. It's cool, fun, and not too challenging, even for children (my 4-year-old managed it alone, with a few breaks). There's also a forest road for those with bikes or strollers (although I think the slope might be quite challenging when pushing a stroller). Excellent, tasty, and carefully prepared traditional dishes. The staff is very friendly and helpful!

Excellent mountain hut, we were there in July. Special with all the vintage objects, the guys very kind and friendly. Excellent dishes, from goulash to dumplings, the dessert and the grappas, everything delicious.

16/11/2025: The hospitality, welcoming atmosphere, and nature experience that the Kuen family and their entire team create is truly unparalleled. Perfectly equipped rooms with an absolutely comfortable ambiance. Two!! juicers (orange and fruit/vegetable), homemade spreads, fresh strawberries from the Martell Valley, and fantastic crepes for breakfast. Great hiking tips from the owner herself. A soothing hot stone massage from Elisabeth (thank you so much!). Wonderful companions at dinner (thank you for the excellent wine recommendations!). What could be better?! Oh, and yoga with Barbara at 8 a.m. The best way to start the day! I absolutely have to mention that! A big thank you to the kitchen staff as well! Wow! We were in heaven! And a big thank you to all the other members of the team who made our vacation so relaxing and perfect! And Sebastian – thank you for being so accommodating with the rebooking! We would never have been here without you! You are all truly amazing!
13/11/2025: Fantastic cuisine, excellent dishes, and a wide selection, including vegetarian options. Great, friendly, and efficient service. The staff and the host family are incredibly friendly. Keep in mind, the season ends in just three days, and they're delivering such a fantastic experience! 👍👍👍👍👍

Bistro Pienzenau

18/08/2025: We visited the Pienzenau Restaurant in Merano on a balmy summer evening last week and were thrilled from the start. The stunning location, nestled between the vineyards and the old town of Merano, impressed us. The magnificent garden surrounding the property is a true gem and invites you to linger. Our seat on the terrace offered a wonderful view of the property and garden – a perfect setting for a special evening. The hostess and her team welcomed us warmly, immediately creating a familiar and homely atmosphere. Culinary delights left nothing to be desired: We enjoyed a fantastic three-course menu that will remain with us forever. The taste, quality, and presentation were of the highest standard. The team was also perfectly prepared for my gluten-free requests – without any prior notice. We would especially like to mention the young ladies in the waiting room – incredibly attentive, courteous, and always warm. All in all, it was an evening we will cherish for a long time to come. One thing's for sure: We'll be back! And next time, we'll take the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Pienzenau. See you soon! Carolin & Christian from Lüneburg Heath
10/08/2025: Unbelievable gem on the way to Trautmannsdorf by foot. Stop here. Best carbonara of our lives. Other menu items looked sublime too when arriving on other tables. Super wines and service. Lush gardens. A real haven <3
