A very unusual bar on the shores of Lake Como, we stop there every time we go to Lake Como via the mountains, from Lugano. The terrace is magnificent, the croissants are the best I have ever eaten in Italy and the waitress is very smiling, efficient and friendly. It's really a beautiful place that I love!! And the prices are very reasonable

If you're in Valsolda and want to enjoy a fantastic aperitivo, you must stop by Simona's bar in Albogasio, on the road that runs along Lake Lugano. The staff is welcoming, but the real star is Simona, the owner. She's attentive to her customers' needs, always smiling and cheerful, but her true strength is that for her, managing a bar isn't a job, but a passion. Her motto is to pamper her customers.

Only good things to say about Snack Bar Simona Baila. I celebrated my rotund victory in the 2013 Schweizer Literaturpreis here. I snacked on mortadella and drank more Campari Soda’s than i can count with my two hands and my two feet. I don’t shave my feet by the way, unlike those repellent cyclists that tend to make a stop here for a refreshment, and why the hell not, a yogurt icecream.

The food is great and top service

We stopped here for lunch after a long walk and we had a very local and authentic experience! I would definitely recommend the pasta with sugo and the mozarella and tomato panini - Would definitely recommend this place for a local Italian lunch
