Excellent nigiri and sashimi. Very fresh fish and a quality in working the fish that is truly absurd. I think the best sushi in Rome hands down, highly recommended!

OH. If i could put 2.5 stars i would . MEDIOCRE AT BEST this was my reaction to this restaurant. I actually had such high hopes for this restaurant and i was kind of disappointed :( I asked for noodles (i said i wanted the same as my family members ) and he literally brung me A DIFFERENT plate!! This was super weird but the food was… decent at best. For a Michelin i was surprised . This is actually my first negative review but i will be honest: i did not like this service. The servers rarely came to our table and they were just …quiet and kind of had a negative aura that didnt make us really want to say anything. They were judging us I believe. Atmosphere like the restaurant was not bad!! Everything just kinda brung the ratings down. :( EXPENSIVE TOO!!!

Un ristorante che ti trasporta in Giappone ancor prima di varcarne la soglia. L’atmosfera è autentica e il servizio impeccabile: velocissimo e sempre cordiale. Devo dire che non avevamo mai mangiato un sushi di una qualità così alta, né provato alcune delle varietà particolari che propongono. Nigiri, sashimi e uramaki sono semplicemente eccellenti, con ingredienti freschissimi e un’attenzione ai dettagli che si nota ad ogni boccone. Unica nota dolente: la tempura. Buona, ma nella norma, e il prezzo non è giustificato considerando che si tratta di due gamberi e un mix di verdure che, onestamente, costano molto meno. Per il resto, un’esperienza che consiglio assolutamente a chi cerca sushi di qualità altissima e un’atmosfera che ti fa sentire dall’altra parte del mondo.

Nuestra experiencia en Shiroya comenzó con un hipo; inicialmente, afirmaron que no teníamos una reserva. Resultó que nuestra reserva se introdujo por error para una semana después, posiblemente debido a su teléfono - único sistema de reserva. ¿Tal vez mover las reservas en línea podría prevenir tales errores en el futuro? Una vez sentado, la comida era buena, aunque no excepcional. Disfrutamos del carpaccio, rollos de sushi y ramen. Sin embargo, hubo una decepción con uno de los rollos; pedimos salmón tempura pero lo recibimos completamente cocido en lugar de la preparación cruda deseada. Desafortunadamente, el restaurante no eliminó este plato de nuestra factura, lo que fue bastante decepcionante, ya que afectó negativamente a nuestra experiencia gastronómica y dejó una nota agria en el servicio. Como nota positiva, el plato de berenjena estaba absolutamente delicioso, al igual que el postre de té verde. En general, aunque la comida en Shiroya es encomiable, el servicio no cumple con el mismo estándar.

04/01/2026: We came here on a Friday night by pure chance, because we wanted ramen and all the other places in the area were full... yet that was our luck!! Here we found ramen with attention to every detail: the base, the broths, the noodles, all homemade. But above all, even the soy sauce was homemade, and it's truly special. Out of curiosity, we also shared an onomakoyaki, a typical Okasa appetizer, delicious, and for a treat, two tuna belly nigiri, the best cut (€14 for two), and indeed it was delicious. This tasting, and the sight of the other tables mostly ordering sushi, made us realize that, in addition to the hot dishes, it too is delicious and absolutely worth it. Finally, for dessert, we had a delicious yuzu tart accompanied by sake (they have a carefully curated selection and can help you choose the pairings). The ambiance also deserves special mention. It's very traditionally Japanese, yet more refined and elegant than the classic, ultra-modern all-you-can-eat sushi joints, or even those overly "fake" izakaya-style places. Plus, it was quiet despite being almost full, making it ideal for a romantic dinner. Highly recommended!
28/12/2025: After visiting the Vatican, I wanted to eat Japanese food, so I went to Okasan. It was a beautiful Japanese restaurant with a very sophisticated and luxurious feel. They had standard menu items like sushi, udon, ramen, and okonomiyaki. If you just order udon or ramen, it's about 15 euros per person. I had the tempura udon, which was delicious. I felt revived.

Hiromi Cake

06/01/2026: A very cute and welcoming Japanese pastry shop where you can enjoy a unique breakfast or a quick lunch. A small gazebo in front of the shop allows you to eat both indoors and outdoors. The menu features traditional Japanese sweets as well as savory dishes like onigiri, uramaki, rice, and ramen. The desserts are homemade, and the flavors of the ingredients tell you they're fresh and made with love and dedication. The (presumably) owner was truly lovely, helpful, and very kind. She gave me some tips for my decision to try the Genmaicha, as its bitter taste might not be for everyone. The Roll Cake with matcha and white chocolate was delicious and soft, a true delight. Hiromi with umeshu, raspberry, and cocoa biscuits was very creamy yet delicate. The Umeshu Spritz was a really nice new thing to try, and much appreciated. Genmaicha is fresh and unique, with a very delicate flavor, and even though it's bitter, I personally still enjoyed it. The story of how the idea for Hiromi Cake came about is beautiful. It touched me. Sometimes people forget that the most beautiful and precious thing is the kindness you can show others, and it would be good to remember that, but unfortunately, not everyone understands this. I'd love to return to try other sweets and even other macha lattes. I'm happy with the wonderful experience I had at this little place. Thank you!
03/01/2026: A great experience for a first-time visitor to a place that truly feels like Japan: the desserts are truly varied and wonderfully flavorful, and the teas are equally delicious (especially the macha!). The service is impeccable and courteous, as the Japanese know how. Highly recommended for a poetically delicious afternoon snack.
