On our way back to Italy from Leinz, we decided to return for lunch at Sender's Café Bistro, where we'd been in the winter. After a short wait for a waiter who would listen to us and seat us at a table on the outdoor veranda, we ordered the dish we'd already tried at this restaurant: two Wiener schnitzels with potato salad. The dishes arrived promptly. Compared to previous occasions, the meat was tough, even tough, which can happen when using different cuts. That said, the flavor of the dishes was as good as previous times, and we'll definitely return in the future. Recommended!

Yes, with pleasure, a quiet place in the inner courtyard of Senfter Platzl..nice to sit, pleasant service, good food, a delicious coffee and a bit away from the hustle and bustle, nicely decorated...see you again soon

Locale molto carino, collegato al negozio di prodotti tipici locali, super fornito. Abbiamo mangiato degli Spatzl con formaggio blu, buoni, ed una salsiccia alla griglia con crauti. Personale rapido e cortese.

Lo conosciamo da 10 anni e ogni volta che siamo a San Candido pranziamo o ceniamo in questo locale. Ci piace l'ambiente e il menu che propone inoltre è in centro paese ottimo per poi fare una passeggiata.

04/06/2025: A truly worthwhile excursion! Starting with the Hochmuth lift, you'll enjoy spectacular views of Merano and the Etschtal Valley along the way. From the mountain station, a beautiful, approximately 25-minute hiking trail leads to the Talbauer – easy and well-signposted. Once you arrive at the Talbauer, you'll be greeted with warm hospitality and fantastic South Tyrolean cuisine. The dumplings are a particular highlight – fresh, homemade, and simply delicious. The service was also attentive, quick, and extremely friendly. After refreshments, you'll leisurely continue the approximately 3 km return journey to the valley station, accompanied by stunning panoramas. Conclusion: A perfect half-day excursion with guaranteed enjoyment – ​​nature, good food, and great people. Highly recommended!

Casa al Torchio

10/08/2025: A restaurant I haven't experienced in a long time. We went there spontaneously on a Friday evening with two people. All the seats were taken, but the waiter asked us if we wanted to wait at the bar, as a table would be available soon. We only had one drink at the bar before we were escorted to our table. The food arrived quickly; it was inspiring, authentic Italian/Tyrolean cuisine, and the price was absolutely reasonable. The service was very attentive and professional. I definitely recommend it.
09/08/2025: Nice restaurant on the busy pedestrian zone. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and mid-priced. The pasta portions (we had spaghetti carbonara) are manageable, while the pizzas are a real challenge even for experienced eaters. 😁 The gourmet pizzas are a bit more expensive, but not your average meal. The pizza la Montanara with ham and Kaminwurz (smoked sausage) on a mushroom sauce is very well seasoned and requires plenty of liquid during and after the meal. The only downside is the €2 caperto per guest, which can, of course, be included in the tip. Oh, and sharp knives would be nice next time... 😉
