Scialati In Taormina

Scialati feels like the neighborhood Sicilian home cooking restaurant you wish you had around the corner from home. Sr. Antonio and the other gentleman, whose name I don't know, always make me feel at home. I feel guilty any time I pass them without stopping to eat. (I've rented a flat nearby while on holiday.) If you want Michelin stars, there are 15 other places in town to go, but if you want to feel like your uncles stuffed you with good home cooking, if you want to leave with a full belly, a smile on your face, and a friendly handshake, and if you want to leave feeling like you should have paid more, visit Scialati. I think this is the place my patron saint, Anthony Bourdain, would eat in Taormina.
