The Schnalshuberhof is more than just a restaurant, but an authentic South Tyrolean experience combining tradition, quality, and hospitality. Located in a historic 14th-century farmhouse, surrounded by organic vineyards and orchards, this restaurant immediately exudes a warm, family atmosphere. The two indoor parlors, steeped in history, and the outdoor pergola overlooking the mountains make every meal a special experience.
The cuisine is the real highlight: traditional South Tyrolean dishes prepared with authentic ingredients, many of which come directly from the farm or other Red Rooster producers. The menu follows the seasons: in spring, wild garlic dumplings and cream of asparagus stand out, while in summer, light soups are served, while in autumn, Törgellen offers intense flavors with Schlutzkrapfen, roasts, sauerkraut, and the ever-present chestnuts. Don't miss the homemade desserts, such as krapfen filled with jam or chestnut cream.
Homemade wine and grappa complete the experience, accompanied by the warmth of owner Christian and his family, who love entertaining guests with stories and anecdotes. Here, time passes slowly, far from the frenetic pace of life: you eat, chat, and enjoy the conviviality.
Recommended for those seeking authenticity, authentic flavors, and a welcome that makes you feel at home. Reservations are required, especially in high season. A place where tradition and passion meet to offer unforgettable experiences.

One of the most beautiful, rustic, and fun Törggelen taverns (run by Christian and his father) we've ever visited.
The food was very good, as was the wine.

An original host who takes you back in time; the food is a bit unusual but delicious. Wine is the house drink, not beer. Everything is homemade. Reservations are required; otherwise, no change.

A deep bow!
Very, very delicious food and—this is the best and most precious thing—a whole lot of warmth. You have to experience it and be there to see it for yourself.
Be sure to make reservations weeks in advance.
You'll only find a spot if you're very lucky.

We were able to spend a wonderful evening with our men's cooking club in an incredibly cozy, almost familial atmosphere. If you like hearty food and appreciate finely cooked dishes, this is the place for you. The house red wine is also worth a try. No tasting notes, just try it. On this evening, in this company, in this atmosphere, and with this meal, it was perfect.

Today we went to the Schnalshuberhof in Oberplars for dinner again – and as always, it was wonderfully cozy. The specialties on offer are simply a delight. This time we opted for goulash with dumplings – delicious! We paired them with a Vernatsch (Swiss Vernatsch) and a Pinot Blanc, which paired perfectly.
The service was, as always, warm and special; Christian and his team make every visit a special experience. Thank you so much – we'd love to come back!

It's one of the best things you can experience in South Tyrol.
A must for gourmets and entertainment.
It's a miracle how they manage it all.
Very hospitable, everything was top-notch.
We're always happy to come back.

The place is very cute, homey, and the food is very good, but go if you're not in a hurry. The service is slow, so you have to take your time.
Compared to other restaurants I've tried, the prices are a bit higher than average. Also, the lack of a menu prevents you from seeing the prices of the dishes on offer, I might add!

A 5 even before finishing dinner. It takes such courage for the owners to interact with their guests in this magnificent way these days. Some might find it excessive, but I see it as an act of great humanity.
