Sapore Greco In Perugia

Excellent! This little place on Corso Garibaldi makes truly delicious pita: perfect dough, quality ingredients, and GENEROUS portions. The owner is friendly and welcoming; you can tell he's happy with his job, and he manages to convey that joy to his customers (even through the music!). I really enjoyed the vegetarian menu, especially the Greek Salad pita and the Halloumi pita: it's hard to find Greek restaurants with so many vegetarian options, and even harder to find such good halloumi elsewhere! To make the place even more special, it would be fantastic to also offer a tzatziki with plant-based yogurt (like soy), so all the vegetarian pitas could easily be veganized. The tahini is good, but it gets boring after a while... a vegan tzatziki would be the icing on the cake!

Very good, fresh, and delicious Greek cuisine. The owner makes you feel at home: he hums Greek songs while cooking at the counter, allowing guests to see the entire process. Unpretentious, but top-quality. We both dined in and ordered takeout (prepared, packaged, and eaten very quickly). The cheese puffs with honey are delicious!!!

Delicious and affordable meal at Sapore! We came in not long before closing, but the owner kindly accommodated us. In the midst of a two week trip around Italy, we enjoyed a change from the usual pizza and pasta. Good vegetarian options too.

A delightful place to enjoy a high-quality Greek menu. I tried a homemade pita with a filling of my choice, which not only satisfied my palate but also exceeded my expectations. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent value for money. I recommend it to anyone looking for something different from the usual sandwich.

I was in Perugia for a month and desperately needed a souvlaki, since I’m Greek. Obviously, finding good souvlaki outside Greece seems implausible, let alone in a town as small as Perugia. We thought we’d give it a try and order delivery from this place. Better than many places I’ve eaten in Greece. Truly tasty, wonderful combinations, fresh ingredients, and nice pork (rare in such cases - very important!)! The only thing I’d change is a bit less oregano, even though it did smell like Greece as soon as the delivery arrived. Recommended from two - strict judges - Greeks :)

I LOVE this place, whether going in the shop or ordering via Deliveroo. In particular I usually order the pita maiale. The owner is really nice.
