The Salumeria is a great place for dinner in Castello.
Both the tagliatelle (a beautifully cured selection of cheese or sausage, or both) and the pasta are highly recommended.
The outdoor seating is very pleasant when the temperature and weather are right, and the service is extremely friendly and attentive. We'd be happy to go back!

I'm lowering my rating because I drank terribly. After an initial taste of a glass that was almost liqueur-like, I asked for an Amarone, which once again was of poor quality and had a questionable flavor. I didn't order anything else, but while the food was more than decent, it's best to avoid the wine.

The staff is very kind and helpful, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is excellent. I tried the Sicilian meatballs and caponata — absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors and great attention to detail. A place I highly recommend to anyone visiting Venice!

Update: Went back two years later and still excellent. After a few visits to Venice, I can confidently say this is the best restaurant in the city. It’s worth the excursion to taste the creations of chef Giorgio. Great food, warm atmosphere. Go. Now.
A warm, local place run by chef Giorgio. Welcoming atmosphere, delicious dishes (the eggplant dish has this wonderful robust red sauce) and super friendly owner. Away from the touristy places, Salvmeria is worth making your way to.

Excellente adresse
On recommande à 100% cette merveilleuse cuisine.
Accueil chaleureux par le chef, très gentil et de bons conseils.
Nous avons pris de Burger, on en a jamais mangé d'aussi bon. Avec produits de qualité et de bonnes quantités.
Vraiment merci pour cette soirée. Nous nous sommes régalés.
