Salefino Vino & Cucina In Siena

After years I managed to spend an evening in this restaurant. The expectations were not disappointed but I would have preferred to receive a slightly more pampered service. Good and innovative dishes in a city strongly rooted in the territory. Excellent wine list, definitely worth trying is the wine shop with small kitchen.

Not only was the food amazing the staff was so kind and helpful to me as a solo traveler. I had a glass of wine at their bar across the street and they recommended me a perfect classic Tuscan meal. First time trying veal tongue! I also probably would have missed my bus back to Florence if it wasn’t for them! I rarely take pics and leave reviews but for this one I will!

Excellent dinner outside of the tourist restaurants in Siena. Excellent recommendations from the very friendly owner, who took the time to explain all the dishes and wines to us. (Natural wines among others) Homemade cuisine, refined without being gastronomic, a bistronomic spirit, a beautiful terrace for the summer but a nice interior for the rest of the year. I looked for a long time for a nugget to eat in Sienna and I am delighted with my choice, everything we tasted was delicious. Aperitivo: burrata octopus burger with peppers and a very good sauce, first: pasta with a tomato sauce like a bisque and mussels, second: a mille-feuille of fish and vegetables and again a green sauce which gave an extra soul to this dish ! Very fair prices. A wonderful evening and I will return as soon as I return to Siena.

We visited Siena with my 12 wine friends. We had a table for dinner and everyone was impressed by the friendliness of the waiters and the great food. I highly recommend it. The affordable wines were also super good and went well with the food.

The fried squash blossom on top of the polenta cake was the best dish we had in Italy, and the eggplant spaghetti reminded us why we came to Italy in the first place. If you're in Sienna, you've got to check out Salefino!
