We arrived and sat down, but had to get a menu from another table because no one was coming. After a good 10 minutes of waiting, we got up to call the waitress, who, very reluctantly, came back to us after 5 minutes, very calmly, giving priority to cleaning tables. We ordered, but she still introduced herself in a rude manner. Same thing last year. A smile is free! The brioche and granita were delicious.

We stopped here almost by chance while vacationing in the area, and were immediately amazed by their gluten-free options. The gelato is excellent, the brioche excellent, and the granita excellent. Special mention goes to the cream, which is different from the usual one in Messina, being voluminous and not "sticky" for my taste. The owner is friendly and helpful, and I recommend everyone stop by for half an hour of cool, sweet relaxation.

Last night was my first time in Brolo (ME), for the performance of Savatteri's Bianca Lancia, in the spectacular and evocative setting of the castle. We discovered this bar by chance, next to the municipal park (entrance to the village). Now, the granitas of eastern Sicily (with a few exceptions in Trapani) are unparalleled, and I've tasted many, even at renowned places. However, in our personal ranking, this bar's granita deserves first place. I had mulberry and berry granita, while my wife had strawberry (which she compared to the one made by Aunt Melina in Torrenova, near Messina) with berry granita. We also had a medium cup of hazelnut (you could taste the hazelnuts) and pistachio gelato (shared in two), which was also superb. Served at the table, two granitas (2 x €2.60 accompanied by default with water included in the price), two coffees (2 x €1 water included) medium cup (€2.50) 3 empty brioches (with tuppo 😄) 3 x €1.20 total €13.30 with receipt... it's nice to discover these realities... We'll be back! 😄
