Although it's mostly frequented by foreigners, I didn't feel like a "tourist trap." It's a lovely place; the lamb and pecorino cheese sandwich, with anchovies and dried tomatoes, was delicious!

We wanted to have dinner early, and this place opened at 6 PM, which suited our needs.
It was a cozy restaurant with stews at the entrance and various hams hanging above the counter. The lighting was thoughtful, bright, warm, and perfect for taking photos.
This restaurant stopped serving steaks in 2024, opting instead for more locally inspired dishes. The menu is in English, making it convenient for tourists to order.
We ordered:
*Classic steak tartare with egg* – very fresh beef with no unpleasant odor. We didn't experience any gastrointestinal discomfort the next day.
*Tagliatelle with Florentine tripe* – tomato and tripe pasta. The tripe was tender, and the rich tomato sauce coated both the tripe and pasta – delicious.
*Beef stewed in red wine* – tender beef, infused with the aroma of red wine, spices, and whole black peppercorns. We not only finished the bread that came with the dish, but also dipped it in the sauce and ate all the bread (which was delicious on its own).
Tiramisu – absolutely delicious.
The service was also superb! This delicious meal brought a perfect end to our wonderful trip to Luca.

A small trattoria in the heart of Lucca. From the outside, it almost goes unnoticed, but upon entering, a world of hospitality, familiarity, and, above all, excellent food opens up.
You can tell this isn't touristy cuisine, but refined cuisine, featuring excellent ingredients and thoughtfully crafted pairings.
I recommend the tagliatelle with rabbit sauce and the crema catalana...but also the bruschetta with lard and the chocolate and pear tart. In short, you can choose from a variety of options and you can't go wrong.

Very cute and traditional place.
Excellent food, everything homemade.
Tagliatelle with rabbit ragù is fantastic, and the cantuccini biscuits are also excellent.

I can only give 5 stars for everything. I went to school more than 30 years ago and ate at Rusticanella with my classmates and sometimes even the teachers. It's home for me.

A quaint restaurant with EXCELLENT quality food, featuring well-cooked local dishes, just like home cooking, and generous portions.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the ingredients, and the bill is absolutely fair.
