08/06/2025: It's an amazing coffee shop! The most beautiful thing in Rovigo! I love it so much, because I feel like I'm in Paris, in a Ladurèe-type coffee shop, when I cross their threshold.
I discovered it by chance the first time I set foot in Rovigo and, since then, every time I go to Rovigo, it's my regular stop!!! Just thinking about going to Rovigo makes my mouth water!
I love their coffee and their mini pastries! The mini eclair with almond brittle is my favorite, but there isn't one that isn't pure poetry!
Sitting at the table reading a book or a magazine while sipping coffee here is my idea of a perfect afternoon!
I realized that, on the weekend, they also do light lunches and today I wanted to try.
The menu of the day was a riot of colors and flavors, I didn't know what to choose! Everything seemed inviting.
My friend and I had a delicious poke. My friends had ravioli with octopus and potatoes. I thought they would be small dishes, but they were plentiful. The ravioli were a huge dish!
I saw the black pepper salmon that they brought to the table next to ours and I cursed myself for not having ordered it! It looked super inviting!!!
We finished the meal with coffee and the inevitable mini pastries.
For me, mini chocolate soufflé with raspberry and coconut tartlet!
I could live the rest of my life in here!!! This café is my idea of happiness!
Impeccable service and more than excellent prices. For me, number 1!!!
03/06/2025: It is always a pleasure to walk through the small city streets that surround the two squares of the historic center of Rovigo, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the ancient Piazza Maggiore, and Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi and stop to sip a good coffee with one of the delicious delicacies of the house, the legendary Nebbia allo zabaglione, in the prestigious "Caffe`Borsari" that has covered our very pampering historic center with lustre and in its very refined interiors, such as in the outdoor gazebo that runs alongside the "Caffe`" with interiors that want to bring to mind a bit of the legendary "Caffe`Florian" in Venice, in a delightful Venetian center, ours, or the historic "Caffe`Pedrocchi" of the very refined Padua, the ancient Pava, not to forget "Caffe`Brasserie Filippini" in Piazza delle Erbe in the very elegant Verona, the heart of the city of Love, where it is said Porta Borsari, gave birth to the "Historical Maison Borsari in the distant 1902", originally Golfetti, if I am not mistaken.
Ex by legend, Rovigo, derives its name from Rhodon, the roses that bloomed all around, spontaneously, abundantly in ancient times.
Ludovico Ariosto defined it ~ the land where roses are produced ~ he gave it a pleasant name in Greek words ~
"Borsari", the living room of the highly sought-after Piazza Garibaldi of our Rhodigium, therefore, originates from the Borsari Badia, from the sponsor, it is said, Rugby Badia 1981 ASD, the oldest artisan pastry shop in Badia Polesine, La Badia, in which in the historic square stands imposing, in its magnificence the Benedictine Abbey of S. Maria della Vangadizza, and surrounding it the small town of Polesine, which developed starting from the 6th century.
To finally land here too, making itself desired by the entire city, by university students, by tourists & travellers, comme una vraie première femme, for a long time, it was the Topic of the day, the whole city talked about it, a chatter arose, cheerful, in the streets of the center
" during the hours of the tub" in which one approaches "the liston" of the two Squares; for a long time... memorable... but when? perhaps at Christmas? And where? and behold, as if by magic, on the eighth of December of the year 2021, the City comes alive with Immense, with an Elegance and a Class, which allow me, Rovigo, deserved and has long awaited as The Event that has become very precious in our eyes as... in our Dreams...
And this is how "La Pasticceria" makes its triumphal entry into the City where Excellency, "Borsari" inaugurates "Il Caffe" in the most prestigious and deserving position ~ where once was ~ the Antico Caffe`Borsa ~ and to this day remains the corner between the two squares most appreciated and experienced by the Rovigo of other times as well as by the new elite generations, bringing the City back to its ancient splendor thanks and above all to the evolution of a Rovigo now rich in cultural ideas for a long time, abundant with Exhibitions, Expositions, Events, Concerts of Classical music, Jazz, Singers and cantors on every street corner, Skilled musicians, Theatrical Performances, Events that the city can now boast of teeming with, from morning to night in the span of the Four Seasons of Vivaldiana memory ;)))
All in the surrounding of "Borsari Pasticceri in Veneto dal 1902."
And it is said that the Borsari Family has other surprises in store for us ~ in fieri ~ perhaps for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, once again?
It would be a great gift from the Borsari Family to our already delightful Venetian town.
For a long time it was felt like a forgotten Rovigo only to then see it and feel it blossom again as if by magic, flourish again, and reserve surprises for us day after day.
In homage to my long-unlived city, having lived my most beautiful years in a Unique World,
