The waitress was on her mobile phone continually the whole evening. It created an unpleasant atmosphere in the resturant, which was a shame as the food itself was quite good.

A small restaurant located just steps from the Ortigia Castle, I Castellani immediately strikes you with its small size: just a few seats and a truly spartan atmosphere. We ate outside, along the street, in a simple and informal atmosphere. The food, however, is definitely worth a mention: the anchovy first course was very good, as was the spaghetti with red shrimp and burrata, with its well-balanced flavors. The squid ink arancini appetizer was less convincing: the rice was unfortunately overcooked and not up to par with the rest of the dishes. The mixed fried fish, however, was good, and the parmigiana was excellent, truly well-made. The service, in keeping with the restaurant's style, is simple and a bit spartan, but still courteous. The price was reasonable for the amount of food. In short, a must-try if you want to enjoy authentic and tasty Sicilian cuisine in an informal yet genuine setting.

We came here twice during our stay in Syracusa. We felt super welcome and had an amazing meal. If you want an genuine experience with authentic food , this is definitely a must.

A wonderful discovery! The pistachio and shrimp pasta was simply delicious, a real treat from start to finish. A generous plate, full of flavors and perfectly balanced. You can feel the freshness of the products and the expertise in the kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant for lovers of good pasta!

You can really tell that they put a lot of love and tradition into their dishes. From the first bite to the last, the flavors were incredible, authentic Sicilian cuisine at its finest!
