Exceptional food - definitely some of the best we've had in Italy (and we've had a lot!). All the staff were very knowledgeable on the wine and food available - service was prompt without being intrusive. There was a good choice of dishes, which were very well presented. We had the sushimi and the steak tartare to start, followed by entrecôte - all of which were delicious. The wines paired with the courses were perfect as well. Would certainly recommend!

I was at this wonderful restaurant tonight. The menu was beautifully presented, and the dishes were delicious and interesting. The staff were lovely, friendly, and very welcoming. The people who run everything are very professional, and I really enjoyed it. I'll be back and would recommend it to anyone.

We couldn't have wished for a better restaurant experience on our wedding day. From the outside, you'd never guess what a culinary treasure lies hidden behind the facade. The service from the owner himself was absolutely top-notch. His assistant was equally impressive. The food and drink selection was of the highest quality. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing evening.

My wife and I found this Wine Bar on our first night in Ortisei and it was our favorite restaurant from our entire trip. The food, service, and atmosphere were so amazing we came back the next night! The owners, Renate and Helmuth also gave us excellent wine recommendations to pair with our dinner. We absolutely loved this restaurant and will be back the next time we are in Ortisei.

29/03/2026: Brilliant hotel - ideal for an adult ski trip in the beautiful Dolomites. Slopes are closely located and accessible by bus or transfer. The nearby town is around a 15 minute walk. The room was lovely with a separate sitting area and balcony with amazing views. The staff could not do enough for us - their communication via WhatsApp, even before the trip, was very responsive. The spa with a steam room and sauna was relaxing and a lovely addition, especially after a day's skiing. Grazie mille 😊

The hotel has an intimate and refined atmosphere, perfect for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. Everything is extremely tidy and meticulously maintained, from the common areas to the rooms, which are tastefully furnished with contemporary Alpine elegance. One of its strong points is undoubtedly the free transfer service to the ski lifts, extremely convenient and punctual. Its proximity to the lifts makes the hotel perfect for both winter skiers and those who want to explore the Dolomites in the summer without stress. The real surprise, however, was the view from the room: simply sensational. Waking up with the Dolomites before your eyes is a feeling difficult to describe. In short: an elegant, welcoming, and perfectly organized hotel, ideal for a quality stay in Ortisei. I would return without hesitation. 🌿🏔️

06/01/2026: We had a truly wonderful time staying at Gasthof Kohlern. The fresh, high-quality (often locally-sourced) food and the hospitality were our favorite parts. The waitstaff showed upmost professionalism but also a relaxed kindness that made us feel really at home. We hope to come back!

Everything in Gasthof Kohlern invites you to slowly appreciate the beauty of life: the natural environment, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains; the cuisine, with delicious and refined dishes, the wines, the breakfasts; the simple elegance of the rooms; the peace and quiet; and last but not least, the generous and considerate kindness of the staff. Viele Dank: you make this place a perfect combination of charming and soothing.
