I've only been there once, a few years ago, but the experience was truly memorable, and I wanted to leave a mark on it. From the moment we arrived, I immediately felt welcomed: the location is stunning, surrounded by nature near the Monticchio Lakes, and we had the opportunity to eat outdoors, with a relaxing atmosphere and truly enchanting views. The food was delicious, authentic, and well-prepared: typical Lucanian dishes prepared with fresh, genuine ingredients, which made the dinner enjoyable and memorable. The wine selection and the quality of the dishes also contributed to making everything perfect. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home, attentive to detail and ready to recommend the house specialties with a sincere smile. In short, even though I've only been there once, Restaino Restaurant left a truly positive memory, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Lucanian cuisine in a unique and evocative setting. Excellent restaurant with a tourist menu

Four of us went here for lunch and were really pleased with the food, the service, and the kindness of the staff. Special mention goes to the strascinati alla mollica e crusco, which were truly exceptional! Excellent value for money, I highly recommend it!

A place suspended in space and time. It certainly isn't glamorous or captivating, but they know how to cook and transport you with a jolt to authentic Basilicata. We found traditional dishes cooked by Lucanian mothers and grandmothers, in a menu that leaves no room for fantasy simply because it's not needed: reality is more than enough! Delicious appetizers, first courses with pezzente sausage, white ragù, or crusco peppers, second courses bursting with flavor, a braised suckling pig whose tenderness was almost touching. They even brought us an extra sperlunga of strascinati to make up for a delay in the main courses we hadn't even realized! And all in a menu for 28 euros per person, including drinks! Truly excellent hosts!! They will be our go-to for every trip to Monticchio!!

Simple, clean restaurant with very friendly staff! Worth a visit when visiting Monticchio... Top tourist menu, starter, first course, and main course, all delicious! Excellent value! Recommended!

Excellent food!! I highly recommend it!! The strascinate with cruschi peppers was an explosion of flavor!! The parmigiana melted in your mouth, and even the simple dessert was more than appreciated! We'll definitely be back!!
