Ristorante Ratafià In Frosinone

Nice restaurant located more or less in the historic center of Frosinone. The food is good and the dishes are beautifully presented. I recommend trying the chestnut ravioli with pumpkin cream and the omelette with caramelized onion, asparagus, and a cascade of truffles. And, for dessert, the pomegranate cheesecake. 😋 The staff is kind and helpful, especially Linda. 😊 Parking is the real problem, but that's exactly what upper Frosinone is. 😪 Today, since it's a holiday and the offices around the hotel-restaurant are closed, my family and I found a parking spot more easily than the first time, in the evening, on a weekday. Or maybe because we booked for lunch and not dinner. 🤔 Unfortunately, I've never had reason to try it as a hotel, since I live in this city, but the photos look promising. 🫠 Recommended. 😊👍

In the highest part of the city, parking is extremely difficult. At certain times, it's almost impossible. Rooms are decorated in… vintage style. Overall, clean, but the limescale in the shower was truly excessive. The shower is huge and extremely comfortable, by the way. The water from the system (both cold and hot) is pumped in bursts: at times it's very strong, at times it seems to stop. This makes mixing difficult, and the showerhead feels scalding hot and cold. From my room, I had a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Prices are affordable. The sweet breakfast was varied and pleasant. The cakes were excellent. There was practically no savory breakfast. Avoid the restaurant: I spent 50 euros for an appetizer of eggplant meatballs that didn't taste like eggplant, fried cod with olives (fried), capers (fried) in a sauce (fried) that I digested the following week, a glass of wine, water, and a 3-cm-diameter chocolate cake. Crazy price and barely adequate quality. There are much better dining options nearby. I'll return to the hotel, carefully avoiding the restaurant.

We stayed at the Hotel Garibaldi for just one night and were pleasantly surprised. The property is very well-maintained, in a very central location with a panoramic view of the city. The staff was truly kind and welcoming. The breakfast was a special mention, with a wide selection, all homemade, of great quality and deliciousness.

I stayed at the Hotel Garibaldi in Frosinone last Friday and had a truly positive experience. I'd especially like to thank Linda and Roberta at the front desk for their kindness and helpfulness: an impeccable welcome that immediately made you feel at ease. The rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable, truly exceeding expectations. The breakfast was also excellent, varied and high-quality, with excellent coffee that deserves a special mention. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for professionalism, attention to detail, and authentic hospitality.

At the top of the city to enjoy everything Frosinone has to offer.

Excellent location. Convenient parking is available in front of the hotel. Easy booking through the Booking portal. The staff is friendly, polite, kind, respectful, and above all empathetic. The receptionist was extremely polite and kind. Excellent staff. The rooms were spotless in every way.

This is getting longer, first Italian, then German: Abbiamo lasted until October 7, 2025. The room was ok, so it came with the accommodation. Tutti sono gentili. My kitchen is a disaster! Abbiamo ordinato un'insalata with pomodori e basilico. Ci hanno portato i pomodori, ma il basilico non c'era più. A Italian kitchen senza basilico è insapore e pessima! Mia moglie has the ordinato of the tortelloni ripieni di capesante e altro. Ci hanno portato dei paccheri. This means that the water in the cotton water has only a few smudges. I love calamari and game. Completely scorched! The squid were soft. The shrimp too. The cooks don't like their own work, the products, or the customers! They were apprentices in their first year of cooking training, but I can only recommend categorically avoiding the kitchen of this place! We stayed there on October 7, 2025. The rooms are fine, as is the reception. Everyone is friendly. But the kitchen is a disaster! We ordered a salad with tomatoes and basil. They came with tomatoes, but they said the basil was gone. Italian cuisine without basil is heartless and extremely bad! My wife ordered tortelloni with a scallop and other fillings. They came with paccheri. Some of them had only seen the cooking water from a distance, they were so raw. I had squid and shrimp. Completely overcooked! The squid was solid rubber. The shrimp were the same. Anyone who cooks like that has no love for their job, their products, or their guests! Every first-year apprentice cooks better! Therefore, my only advice now is to avoid that kitchen!

This review is for the restaurant only. Dinner on the balcony with a picturesque view, elegant location. Very friendly and helpful staff. A good menu could also be expanded for more choice. The downside is the timing: we waited almost an hour for the charcuterie boards and a good half hour for the first courses; the wait, especially when we were hungry, was quite unnerving. The platter was decent, but at times even inconsistent for the price. The first courses were generally acceptable, except for the tagliolini with mushrooms, which were truly bland. The fusilloni and calamarata were very good; perhaps with a little more salt, they would have been perfect. For the price, we could have done better.
