Ristorante Pizzeria Mastro Ciliegia In Firenze

We’ve eaten at Ristorante Mastro Ciliegia multiple times over the years, and it has never let us down. The pizzas are phenomenal, the calzones are big enough to require a support group, but the real magic is in the primi and secondi. The risotto with asparagus is always spot-on, the peposo with whipped potatoes is pure comfort, and the true showstopper is the deceptively simple spaghetti alla carrettiera—absolute perfection on a plate. Desserts? Also fantastic. Service is warm, genuine, and exactly what you want. And the pricing is beyond reasonable for the quality. In short: consistently excellent food, honest hospitality, and a menu that keeps pulling us back year after year. Highly recommend.

We stopped here for our first dinner in Italy and this restaurant set the bar high. Inside was full so we took a table outside under the heat lamp to soak up the evening energy of the city. The menu was full of delicious options, so we got a variety. One pizza, the inverno, one pasta, the gnocchi, and the ossobuco to round things out. The pizza was among the best we've had to date with a mix of fresh ingredients. The gnocchi was rich but not overpowering and was expertly plated. I wasn't sure what to expect of the ossobuco but wanted a Florentine dish, and it did not disappoint. Bursting with flavour, the meat was succulent and the plate was wonderfully balanced overall. Service was fast and friendly and the staff made us feel right at home despite only knowing five or six words of Italian.

Great little restaurant on a charming little square away from the crowds, with a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. The porcini mushroom risotto and the polpettes with peas were simply perfect. The bearded gentleman who served us was exceptionally kind and offered excellent wine recommendations. Highly recommended! Thank you!

A good Florentine restaurant, away from the main tourist crowds and in a lively square. The food is perfectly satisfactory, with a special mention for the tiramisu, which was very good. Only the service was a little slow. The bottled Tuscan beer is really good.

This was hands down the best pizza we’ve had on our trip. It really was excellent! And what made the experience even better was how friendly and accommodating the server was. She clearly explained to us the menu in english, took into consideration our request for halal(vegetarian) food and recommended us some options. We also took bruschetta for appetisers, which were not necessarily the best we’ve had, but it was still good. We’d surely come back in our next stay!

Excellent! I enjoyed a truffle pasta dish in pizza dough, original and really perfect, the whole family loved it! Very friendly service, I recommend!

At the next table, they'd replaced the chicken with fried artichokes with zucchini without realizing it! It was the customer who pointed it out to the waiter, who rightly didn't charge her for it... So, to be on the safe side, we ordered the pizza and peposo, which were really good, and the staff was kind and very cheerful. Unfortunately, the restrooms were terrible, and half a liter of water for €3.50 seems crazy to me.

Perfect, good Margherita pizza and wine.
