Towards the end of October, about twenty elderly former classmates, 58 years after our high school graduation exams as chemical engineers, gathered for a delightful convivial gathering at the L'Opera restaurant in Licata. A clean, bright, and welcoming family-run establishment, we ordered a seafood lunch. Elena, the beating heart of this small restaurant, was extraordinary in her hospitality and kindness. She welcomed her guests with a classic aperitif featuring an olive and a small triangle of Margherita pizza. Nine appetizers then gave free rein to the imagination, creativity, skill, and professionalism of the chef, who then delighted us with two simple yet remarkably flavorful and satisfying first courses: a rich seafood risotto and trofie with swordfish, shrimp, and eggplant. All washed down with a good local white wine. No bread, just pizza schiacciata with excellent olive oil and oregano. Then, sorbet, dessert, coffee, and amaro for everyone. The price? The perfect balance between quality and friendliness. We recommend it.

Very pleasant welcome, attentive and helpful service. The risotto, sea bream fillets, and grilled squid were excellent. The wine, dessert, and after-dinner coffee were all perfect. A great place to revisit before leaving Licata.

In its category, it's a fully satisfactory place: clean, fast, excellent food. They offer a nice and tasty welcome aperitif. Well done!

Table booked for 2 (Outside) estimated time of arrival 8.30pm/9pm, we arrive at 9pm, tables all occupied outside and inside we waited for them to clear it, while we wait they put the tablecloths back but for 4 people surely friends, relatives or regular customers, I came forward after no one gave us confidence that we were standing there so the owner made us sit right where she had set the place setting for 4 by removing 2 places. Long wait to bring a menu, welcome cocktail forgotten by everyone, we didn't even get the menu and her friends who arrived after us brought menus and cocktails together, it's clear that they don't know how to treat a new customer properly. Empty table, no drinks, no glasses, one of the waitresses comes by and asks me if we had already booked, I said that we hadn't even seen what the menu looked like yet, she brings us the menu but still without a welcome cocktail (I imagined it was paid for, but I noticed that everyone who arrived brought it and we arrived first, no one brought it) when she brought us the drinks I asked if the cocktail was paid for and she started laughing saying to me (it wasn't brought to you 🤔) I'll bring it right away ... the welcome cocktail arrives but in the meantime that other table of her friends from Licata arrives everything ... we are forgotten by everything. The chips arrive undercooked and a little frozen. The seafood appetizer arrived for €15: a plate with three slices of salmon, three slices of swordfish, an Alice, tiny shrimp with pink sauce, two slices of lemon, and undercooked octopus served with burnt schiacciata without salt and extra virgin olive oil (perfect for me since I'm on a diet), a veal dish with cream and mushrooms (this one was good), local white wine that wasn't cold enough, and desserts served with a good limoncello. We weren't happy and wouldn't recommend it due to the long waits and reservations, but for the food, except for the poor seafood appetizer, everything else was fine... OK, it's okay because it's Saturday, the noise, etc., etc., but forgetting just us is impossible... Noise; very noisy Maybe I'll go back for the pizza, since my brother always comes there, but not on Saturdays anymore.
