Ristorante Pizzeria Eggbauerhof In Caldaro sulla strada del vino

We've been coming to the Eggbauerhof every year for 26 years. I'm only 21 and grew up here on vacation. The trampoline, which has been here for years, was the highlight of my days in Kaltern. The restaurant is known for its large portions, especially the pasta. The portions can usually only be eaten by two people. At the same time, they're incredibly delicious.

The food is good and plentiful, and the prices are reasonable. The service is okay. The ambiance isn't great, but it's not bad either.

On our way back from Italy to Munich, we were looking for a restaurant for a traditional and authentic lunch and stumbled upon this place by chance. I can only agree with the positive reviews – we were thrilled. It's beautifully located high up in the village with a beautiful view. The portions were super-sized, very tasty, arrived promptly, and the prices were more than fair (pasta €10-14) – you could even share them! The staff were consistently friendly; it's a traditional family business. Authentic South Tyrolean cuisine. We'd love to go back!

A popular restaurant on the outskirts of Kaltern. The covered outdoor area is quite simple, and during our visit, the waitress was a bit hectic. A very large pizza selection, including white pizza and unusual but interesting combinations. Generally speaking, the portions are large and the quality is decent, although it doesn't quite match the high standards found elsewhere in the town. However, the prices are very reasonable, making it a great value for money.

The portions here are sized for hard-working men. The price/performance ratio is okay.

Pizza is great!!! The knuckle of pork wasn't good. It was nice and crispy on the outside, but the meat inside was tough and almost cold. I would have preferred dumplings and sauce as a side dish, but they didn't offer it. The fries were mediocre. The ribs (meaty spareribs), four of them, were served pre-cut, not whole. They were completely dry and, in our opinion, of inferior quality. We both felt sick afterward. Conclusion: I'd happily go back for pizza anytime. Meat, sorry - never again. Service was very good, communicative, friendly, and fast. I visited again after two years. The dumpling trio was good, but my schnitzel with fries for €16 wasn't recommended. It was dry, and the fries were quite greasy. My conclusion is the same as two years ago: good pizza and dumplings. The meat wasn't what I expected.

Restaurant, pizzeria and ice cream shop. The restaurant portions are very generous and the prices are more than honest. I tried the restaurant, pizza and ice cream, finding everything very good and well looked after. Private parking and courteous and attentive staff.

The four of us had dinner in the rustic Eggbauerhof. The boss is a very nice, polite older lady and gave us a seat straight away without a reservation. We ate Schlutzkrapfen, shepherd macaroni, spinach spaetzle and a small salad. The portions are huge, so if you're normally hungry, order a small portion or share the large portion between two. Unfortunately, the Schlutzkrapfen were a bit cold. The other pasta dishes were very warm. We were a bit lacking in spice. The salad wasn't dressed, so we did it ourselves. Prices are 10-15€ for the pasta.

The food is very good, the portion is huge.
