Almost rode past on our bikes. Typical of a good Italian. Pizza comes from the wood-fired oven, if communication didn't work properly, we were shown the dessert in the kitchen. Basic communication is good in English. Pizza, pasta and dolci were great. Ambiance and furnishings without any frills but pleasant. Would stop here again and again.

The "Arlecchino" is one of the restaurants where I really consider giving only one star, simply for tactical reasons: if I rate it too well, then a lot of people will go there, and when I go there, there won't be any room more. But there is no other way. Five stars - no less! Why actually? The Arlecchino has noticeably not noticed the omnipresent price increases. In the valley I've seen some things double compared to three years ago, but here you can still get pizza for under a tenner. The staff is clearly attuned to local customers, but they have certainly heard of the concept of tourism (we'll see that in a moment with the pizza selection). Then they speak a little slower when a foreigner is sitting at the table and, in really bad cases, they call in a colleague who can also speak a few bars of English. All in all very pleasant, friendly, no trace of arrogance, no etude, just honest hosts and their staff. The Arlecchino describes itself as a pizzeria, which is obviously what the bread and butter business consists of. I lost count of how many dozen pizza boxes were brought out by pick-up customers as I sat there. So: pizza - perfect. Crispy, juicy, spicy, six (6!) pages of selection, including very bizarre variations (with Vienna sausage and apple pieces, tellingly called 'Tedesco'). I've been there several times, so I've also tried other stuff, e.g. a fantastic octopus salad, delicious vitello tonnato, and now I've tried white tartufo (photo), which is way better than the black one! All this while sitting outside in a very picturesque setting (photo). If you want to know what makes a pub really tick, you just have to look at the toilets. Here: everything is clean and tidy, with a rustic, almost old-fashioned charm. The changing mat is still traditionally in the women's toilet, where it belongs. Here too: nothing to complain about. In summary: Anyone who goes to a posh pub expects that every aspect will be executed to perfection. In a pub like the Arlecchino you would forgive the occasional slip-up - but there wasn't a single one! Top recommendation!

We ate there with six people, some of them for the second time. You should reserve a table in advance. Dogs are also welcome. Service great & fast. Food super tasty and rarely beatable. All dishes were tasty, appetizingly prepared and the quantity was okay. Absolutely great value for money. A nice atmosphere up in the forest, away from mass tourism. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back.
