I love traditional dishes: they're authentic, flavorful, and make you feel at home—even too much so! This is the only problem with Valentino: the care taken in finding the right balance between flavors and ingredients could be improved. The appetizers, in particular, need a little work. But then, when the fava bean and chicory puree arrives, you forget everything else, and your gratitude to the kitchen staff grows exponentially. Plus, exchanging a few words with Valentino is a real plus. He's a great host, with a smile and an infectious laugh, he immediately puts you at ease! If you're in Potenza and want a decent meal, Valentino is a good option, considering its location and easy parking.
