Aperitif with bubbles; the two pieces of focaccia (each) were excellent, served with wine (we didn't order champagne). Friendly service. But €10 for a glass is still excessive, in my opinion. We're not in Porto Cervo...

Where Pacini once stood is now CASA GASPERONI.
Excellent cuisine, a setting with a splendid view and expertly furnished. In the kitchen, they prepare traditional dishes with tasty innovations. Well done!

We chose this restaurant because of the quick availability of a table—a detail that, considering it's high season and the restaurant next door is packed with tourists, seems less mysterious in retrospect.
The initial impression is undoubtedly remarkable: elegant decor, courteous and knowledgeable staff, locally sourced products, which are also detailed on the menu, and a view of the valley that seems designed specifically to transform the dinner before the castle visit into a postcard. Everything is perfectly designed to captivate those who stop by.
Then come the dishes: the appetizers, closer to a tasting than a full course, are gone in the blink of an eye. The first courses follow the same philosophy, elegant but deliberately modest, leaving the impression that satisfaction should come more from the presentation than the content. In the end, the only truly generous portion is the bill, presented firmly and without hesitation.
A curious aspect, in this regard, is the lack of an external menu with prices: a choice that certainly doesn't encourage transparency and risks surprising those who come here without preparation. Finally, the vegetarian offering is limited to a few marginal options (one or two), seeming more like a courtesy addition than a genuine culinary experience.
In short, the experience leaves the impression of a place that plays more on the setting than the painting itself: refined cuisine, yes, but with a quantity-to-price ratio that makes it more memorable for the wallet than the palate, even when compared to similarly caliber restaurants.

Restaurant in the center of Montebello right at the gates of the Azzurrina castle, it is renovated internally because it took the place of a historic restaurant called Pacini, informal, clean environment, also offers some outdoor tables in the summer, we opted for the menu (on the advice of the kitchen) as we were many, as appetizers they served us, aubergines in scapece, toma and mixed salad, pancotto, tomato, strawberry and fried herbs between the two I preferred the aubergines, the pancotto was too sweetish for my taste, as a first course traditional cappelletti with cream and lemon, the latter I found too sweet and after the second spoonful I was already tired, as a second course the guinea fowl on the coals, peach and rocket, very good you could feel all the flavour of the grill, but something in this dish (perhaps it was a reduction of the guinea fowl stock I don't know, but it gave the whole another sweetish sensation) did not convince me...., to finish as dessert, Fruit and vegetable salad with elderflower ice cream, which wasn't bad either, but the syrup was a bit too sweet... And coffee macaroons to finish.
All things considered, the chef knows how to cook, but for my taste (and that of some other diners), there are too many dishes that veer towards the sweetish (see the cappelletti or the guinea fowl). The service is punctual and precise, and the wine list is extensive with a fair markup.

We stopped for dinner. The staff were very friendly, and just looking at the menu, you can tell this place is very unique and special. Very good, truly a surprise.
