Ristorante "Oi Marì" In Matera

We had dinner in this lovely place last night. The restaurant itself is very nice, the service was good although the food took a while to arrive. We had the maiale with apple sauce and the braciola with some roast potatoes.

A wonderful restaurant nestled in the Sassi of Matera, very welcoming, spotlessly clean, and truly charming. Traditional dishes are well-prepared, with generous portions and top-quality ingredients. I've been to Oi Marì in Matera and can say it's one of those places that will leave a lasting impression. Beautiful restaurant carved out of stone in the center of Matera. Tasty pepers and grass pea soup. Average prices.

The server was attentive and very caring. The food was succulent and very elaborate. Affordable prices for the quality. A magical atmosphere on the terrace in the evening.

The interior is truly spectacular. The outside area overlooks the small square, where many bars and restaurants are located, but it's a bit more chaotic. The dishes served are delicious, made with quality ingredients and a blend of traditional and innovative dishes. There are vegetarian options. The prices are a bit high. Unfortunately, the only real negative is that when we called to make a reservation, we requested to eat inside. The lady on the phone accepted our request, but when we arrived, a very unkind gentleman told us there was no room inside. We then had to ask the lady who had probably answered the phone to move us inside, where almost all the tables were free.

Excellent food. We did the set menu and enjoyed every course. Each course was well cooked, made with great ingredients and top flavour. Despite booking in advance, we were sat right at the back of the outdoor dining area which was disappointing, especially when walk-in tables were sat in nicer spots. Wait staff could have been a little more attentive.
