My wife did a web search of restaurants near our hotel, Abbadia San Giorgio, and we found Ristorante Nenne. Samatha, one of the owners, was also our waitress and was just terrific. Her husband and brother are the co-owners. It's named after her niece.
The first time we ate there, my wife had a very fresh Insalada Mista and I very much enjoyed the Branzino with potatoes and a cherry tomato sauce. Both were fresh, filling, and very well prepared. The molten chocolate cake was very rich and one of the best I've ever had.
Four nights later, we returned to this small restaurant with great food, attentive service, and reasonable prices.
I started with Tuna Carpaccio, followed by entrees of Fettuccini Fungi for my wife, Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe for Gil, and red wine. We love this little place and hope others will discover it and enjoy it as we have.
Mangia mangia!
First evening in Moneglia, seduced by nice umbrellas and location. Starter was OK, maincourse, I had the Squid casserolle which was excellent. Hovever, my wife opted for the prawns which were a bit sad and old. No dressing or sauce. Unfortunately she pulled rank on me and had the caserrolle, I got the tired prawns. Salad was old and uninspiring also. Waitress was nice and helpful, maybe that was the problem.
Bill came to 122euros. Have eaten better cheaper since.
