04/01/2026: When history and haute cuisine meet We chose Gli Scacchi restaurant for our New Year's Eve dinner, and it was a fortuitous but absolutely perfect choice! The location is simply stunning: an elegant and refined setting inside an eighteenth-century building that was once part of the stables of the Royal Palace of Caserta. More recently, the building also served as a theater studio for the Servillo family, adding further cultural charm to the venue. The atmosphere is intimate, elegant, and tranquil, perfect for enjoying a special evening without the hustle and bustle. The attention to detail is immediately apparent: the table setting is meticulously designed, and the dishes are prepared with remarkable mastery. We enjoyed a seafood dinner with truly exquisite dishes, prepared with top-quality ingredients and meticulously presented. Each course was a small masterpiece, both for the palate and the eyes. The welcome was warm and genuine: Gino, the owner and cellar master, and his wife, the chef and kitchen manager, made us feel like special guests. Their passion and dedication shine through in every aspect of their service. If you're planning a vacation in Caserta, in addition to the Royal Palace, Gli Scacchi is also definitely worth a visit.
