Roseto Capo Spulico is a beautiful town on the border between Calabria and Basilicata, overlooking a splendid 2024 Blue Flag sea and dominated by the famous and once important castle, through which the Holy Grail apparently even passed. On the beautiful seafront there is the La Stiva restaurant, a nice surprise for fish lovers. The staff, kind and attentive, offered us for dinner an unmissable and rich seafood appetizer, an amazing tuna calamarata and delicious linguine with cuttlefish ink and prawns. For the second course, excellent cod on a bed of courgette and mint pesto. Balanced account. To repeat.

The cuttlefish ink tagliolini with stracciatella and raw prawns were excellent... the tuna & green apple tartare were delicious!

Sober and quiet, facing the sea. It was a pleasant evening dictated by the excellent cuisine. The owner is a delightful and pleasant person, he knows how to put the guest at ease. The cuisine was a surprise: salmon with Campari, meatballs of cod, battered cod just to mention some of the dishes (of the day) provided as starters. Scialatiello with cuttlefish ink and prawn tartare and mezze sleeves with redfish (a beast) are just 2 of the first courses requested, to say exceptional is an understatement Abundant, tasty, oh my. I advise future guests to go and be embraced by the taste, by the excellent wine (Spagnoletti e Zeuli winery / Concadoro rosé) and by that sea breeze that caresses your skin.
